I don’t know the number of years he has stayed in Canada but I think he has not learn or seen more on the foreign land. There is more he needs to know. Before they can give you money when you don’t have a job means that you’ve paid taxes which includes the money they take from you so that in case of disaster or lost of job they will give it to you as a salary. And even that they don’t give you a full salary and for only 6 month
You guys are rather talking out of the box. He said they paid him when he was an asylum seeker. Moreover, if they pay you from your previous tax deduction when you lose your job, it's still payment without job. You are even confirming what he is saying.
In canada, if you socialize a lot, you will never aquire any asset but live happy life; if you really wants to acquire financial freedom, you really have to live frugal boring life, From home to work all year round and it really stressful. With my experience in canada, there's no place like Ghana! if we really bring our work ethics to Ghana and willing to work any job in Ghana, we can easily live a purposeful life with no stress.
It is not only about the work ethics. The motivation must also reflect as well as the system must work. Accurate work ethics with poor motivational value and systems not working as they should, workers would eventually flee elsewhere to seek greener pastures where their efforts will be well rewarded.

What he is saying about unemployment payment is true but it is not indefinite in the USA unless Canada. In the USA, for instance, most unemployment benefits are paid up to 26 weeks. If you don't find a job after 26 weeks you will not be paid again although most people will find jobs as the unemployment payment is not that much.
@@dylanjefferson4757 And even that, it is based on your Record of Employment. The state needs proof that you have been working before then and thus paid your share of (un)employment insurance. I was on employment insurance after a medical procedure, and was required to fill out a form every two weeks to prove I was not making money elsewhere. I don't even know how people get comfortable on that payment.
Milo..you just don't go to socialfuo and say you don't have a job and then they give you money right away. If you loose your job without no fault of yours then you apply for EI (Employment Insurance)..which takes 28 days to even get your first payment..and it could even be longer than the 28 days especially if you or your employer did not submit your records of employment on time. And mind you..the EI only pays between 55 to 60 percent of your monthy salary which is deducted from your every pay cheque..so it's not even a free money. And also..you don't qualify for EI if you get fired from work or you don't papers which means you don't pay no taxes to the government. Let's not make it seem as if the Canadian government is just dolling out money for fun.
Thank you! I have a colleague at work who came to Canada with her family as refugees. She told me after they had settled in, the government sent them a bill to pay (to recoup the resettlement cost). The country is neat, laws and regulations work, the air is 'clean', no dumsor, good infrastructure, etc. But, they invested a lot of money into all that, so once you live here, you are required to pay/contribute to maintain the system.

That's true. Even in Germany. If you have documents, when you lose your job, the "Jobcenter" which is Labour commission in Ghana will pay you and your rent until you find another job. Well, it's not as compared to your salary though. Even when you are working, if your salary isn't enough, the Jobcenter will supplement that.
Ghanaians don’t like to follow structured processes, many likes to pay money to others to get things done. Have a plan, follow the process and appear for interview. Your job, financial security, family ties, and you present yourself to your interviewer. They are psychologist but not magicians so they would want you to proof whatever you are saying. Not everything the guy is saying is true,the system in Canada is different from Ghana,if husband and wife are both working at least the man in the house will take at least 60%of the house bills
The explanation is not clear-- if both sre working- they must share in the expenses proportionally- if the wife is not working that is a different matter.
Milo stop bragging about Canada and tell them you live on social assistance, which means you're considered destitute/ poor person abroad. Financially sound people don't live on social assistance or benefits abroad. And tell them the kind of job you've been doing since you came abroad. Tell them that you've been doing minimum wage jobs, which is mostly unskilled labour and that's why you probably were easily sacked so stop making noise. Tell them you don't have any essential skills that would make you competitive to be kept by your employer hence, you were sacked. Or probably, the job you were doing required too much brute strength which you're too old for, hence you couldn't deliver and got sacked. Give us a break, abroad poor and Ghana rich, Milo!!!!
