It gave me chills listening to this. I usually like originals way better, but Jordin has a strong and powerful voice that I think did this song justice. Both versions are on equal grounds as far as I'm concerned.
If the Land before time were ever to be remade into a live action film like Disney’s doing with their properties, this version would be perfect for the ending credits.
Don't lose your way With each passing day You've come so far Don't throw it away Live believing Dreams are for weaving Wonders are waiting to start Live your story Faith hope and glory Hold to the truth In your heart If we hold on together I know our dreams Will never die Dreams see us through To forever Where clouds roll by For you and I Souls in the winds must learn how to bend Seek out a star Hold on to the end Valley, mountain There is a fountain Washes our tears All away Words are swaying Someone is praying Please let us come Home to stay If we hold on together I know our dreams Will never die Dreams see us through To forever Where clouds roll by For you and I When we are out there In the dark We'll dream about the sun In the dark We'll feel the light Warm our hearts Everyone If we hold on together I know our dreams Will never die Dreams see us through To forever As high As souls can fly The clouds roll by For you and I
I completely agree with you. I wish that they would just let her sing it her way in the studio because the live performance of this song was 1000 times better than the recorded version. She seems to know what she's doing better than the professionals.
@llamapeepbv Diana Ross. As composed by James Horner, for the soundtrack for The Land Before Time (Diana sings it during the end credits). I recommend listening to the original. It's stunning.
I would say that this brings back good memories of The Land Before Time, but I watched it last night and I have (almost) the entire DVD collection, so it's not much of a memory. Still by far the best song in the series though, wih "Bestest friends" and "No one has to be alone" in joint second. I'm sensing a recurring theme here....meh, beautiful stuff.
I would say that this brings back good memories of Khumba's Journey, but I watched it last night and I have (almost) the entire DVD collection, so it's not much of a memory. Still by far the best song in the series though, with "Bestest friends" and "No one has to be alone" in joint second. I'm sensing a recurring theme here....meh, beautiful stuff.
I was wondering where I could get this song in order to possibly use it in my school's graduation ceremony this year. I can only find the live version. Any ideas?
i really do feel like her live performance on the show was MUCH better than this studio version. She's very pitchy and less convicing compared to the live version.
She did pretty decent on this song. For the idiot who said black chicks have too much pitch and don't sound good, #1 Diana Ross is black #2 Ummm Britney Spears can't sing.
shes got a nice voice but its not smooth enough plus having the chords changin near the end isn't the same But I do love this song, prefer Diana Ross's version better since it was from one of my all time fave movies
i dont like this recorded version. she did that echo thing, and it really didnt need it in my opinion. on the performance she had on american idol, i thought it was absolutely spectacular. not as good as the diana ross tho.
