I just want to emphasize that choosing to love yourself does not mean that you do NOT have to pray for people. This is why God says to pray for your enemies etc. You can still pray for those who hurt you, that is what God the Holy Spirit who is within you wants you to do. Praying for someone despite what they do or did to you, confirms your upright heart.

I am that person who doesn't ask anything from others and when I do I feel guilty and usually take back anything I buy for myself or it takes me awhile to accept and enjoy it. I can't stand to have anything held over my head or threatened to leave me or put me out. I fight spirits of rejection, abandonment, suspicion. I'm a stander and know there is much training in that because standing where you would likely walk away really chisels you in many ways. I long for peace and to be valued by those who are not doing that but standing has taught me GOD is my peace and values me and knows my deepest longings and its in His way and timing. My enemies are getting whooped left and right to it not only hurting them but also me. I was hurt from family members all my life there manipulation had a strong hold. I love them regardless of the thoughts and hate they have for me. God must have something greater for me if they have been fighting so hard to destroy me from not getting.
