Proverbs 19:9, the Bible says: “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.”
Bearing false witness against your neigbours is a sin. Anything that cannot be proven, anything that is not genuine and anything that is not true should not be said or written down and used falsely against anyone. To bear false witness is to accuse someone wrongly. If people are in jail or depression because of your false witnessing, it's just a matter of time. You will face the consequences of what you have sown. Ask for forgiveness.
