It's so important that people put out this kind of content on Catholic youtube. We've got a lot of young guys who spend too much time on the internet - myself included - who need to get out there and do more real stuff.

People often don't equate Priests with being outdoorsmen. But you proved the opposite. Besides teaching your parishioners and your audience members the teachings of Jesus Christ, you also taught how to be one with nature in building a simple fire. Thank you, Father. I loved watching this. My earthly father is an outdoorsman. He likes to hunt and fish. I really needed to be reminded of the beauty of the woods. I love the forest. It's extremely peaceful. I feel God in the forest.

Father, I grew up and lived on the farm till my 30's, and you beat me on the stones' circle, I could not make one so perfect as you did it! But one very important thing regarding starting fire in the Woods: If there's a wind, don't do it. 😅 You're a great priest, and thanks to be one! Birch bark! It was always nice to have some around, I use keep a stash. As an assistant Scoutmaster I would tell the scouts small fires make big fires.

For those new to making a campfire: please only take bark from already downed trees - never live ones; live trees need their bark to survive. Dried leaves work as well - and easier to find. Same goes for the limbs: downed trees only; if you cut it off a live tree, it won't burn as well since a live tree has too much moisture. And, of course, when leaving, make sure the fire is out by pouring water or your coffee over it.
