Exodus 22:16-17 “If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed and lies with her, he shall give the bride-price for her and make her his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money equal to the bride-price for virgins.

I don't want to be negative. Happy for you guys. Congratulations, 🎉. My only problem is that statement that you can't buy puss in a bag. You have to know if the woman can get pregnant before you pay the bride price. I would notvadvise any woman to agree to be sampled like that. Suppose later on you manhood fail you. Should she reamin with you?

I would just say this. Don't just follow Bible traditions, live by the word also. Give you lives completely to Jesus, who is the Christ. Don't just pick and choose what you agree with. One will face chaos in life when they are disobedient to God, by following traditions that opposed the words and standards God has set for us to live by.

In South Africa it’s different whatever children you have outside of traditional wedding belong to the women’s family they are not yours as the man and you have to pay damages and appease the ancestors that you have disrespected the family name by impregnating before marriage and then you must pay dowry to marry the child first and then the mother

Traditional Wedding is very important in Kenya! If the bride price is not paid and the wife dies, the brides family can hold the body from the husband until the bride price is paid. I heard of a case like this when I lived in Kenya. It is very interesting.

Yes 5763, I am Jamaican and have been to Kenya. I really nice and people are nice generally speaking. I felt right at home and a man can find a good wife there as well.

Bride price is dependent on the brides parents...They decide what the man must pay for their daughter...It is not a fixed amount. I know of a family that had to build a house for the brides parents, dress them for the wedding and give them a substantial amount of money for the bride. It took the grooms family a few years before they could get this together so the wedding can take place. I believe the bride price is like a thank you gift to the parents for bringing the woman into the world abd taking care of her to the time of her marriage...I could be wrong ...
