My word, so many things going for this performance! The guitar opening picking pattern was sweet. The outrageous drumming throughout - such depth and variety, a really rich bunch of flavors and surprising counter rhythms. The keys and bass were the groove in this one, so the drum set was free to improvise more, and the groove was so stinky - really deep in the earth, rooted - I had a grimace on my face by end, such feeling! And you could just tell the singer had a real connection to this song - a lot of feeling, coming from a very authentic lived experience and long term relationship with the piece - a message they could believe in. Last, the way the group moved together: it looked like everyone in the room felt it, and were picked up and transported, like the top of a tree in a strong wind, while the roots stay solid deep below. It is early in the day, but I think I can safely say Scary Pockets just won RU-vid today. Thanks for all you do. p.s. back from my 4th listen. Kudos to the camera operator/editor - really nice subtle yet energetic motion, and I love the gritty pan/zoom closeups, very Vulfpeck :-) I wanted to put in a word for the guitar solo too - sweeeeet! p.s. back from my 5th listen. Wait, how did I miss the chord progression?? The arrangement is so sick! It just makes this song. I had to go back and listen to the original, this is such a sweet arrangement. Awesome.

Love seeing Ryan solo! Would be great for Jack to get some spotlight too. I love this band.
