Bolt Thrower, one of the bands that never compromised their sound. Instanly recognisable. Me and my friends traveled about 700km, unsurpervised at the age of 15, to see them live in 1991 at Fabriken in Eskilstuna, Sweden. I still remember being outside the venue hearing Jo Bench soundcheck. That rumble.
Jo is one of my favourite bassists. Genuinely a unique and recognizable sound and and comes at you with really cool melodies that you don't necessarily expect
In case some of you are unaware, the bands Benediction and Memoriam have ex Bolt Thrower ties. Memoriam is a "Supergroup" of Bolt Thrower and Benediction. I highly recommend both. Bolt Thrower will forever be in my Playlist!
I got 13. Didn't get Lest We Forget, Concession Of Pain and In Battle There Is No Law, but it was great to hear some of the lesser known BT songs like Honour and Unleashed (Upon Mankind). Great video
TheSuffocator. Thank you for this. I got all of 'em. Bolt Thrower is my all time favorite death metal band. So many epic riffs to choose from. I start each and every morning with "Infiltrator" as my alarm. If that doesn't wake you up with a jump-start, nothing will. (I kept hoping to hear you play "Symbol of Eight", one of my favorite bonus tracks of theirs)
One of the greatest death metal bands of all time. No weak point in their discography. And a perfect choice for lifting weights, gives a super boost. I miss Bolt Thrower a lot. Memoriam is decent, but it's nowhere near as good.
I had a really rough day and just hearing the first massive chords brought me a shiver of joy. Thank you so much! It's not far fetched to say that your videos belong to my most favourite content on this whole platform! Go on TheSuffocator, teach the world metal! 🤘🥰
This band would be the biggest death metal band around right now, with this new wave of old school death metal coming out in the US. They are one of those bands that no metal head hates or dislikes.
Such an under rated band! Great riffs and sound..ahead of theor time in sound eve..fun fact..I got beamed in the head w a bolt at a Clutch show like 27 years ago. Never did get to see Bolt Thrower live but that Clutch show was awesome tho..opened for slayer i think🤣
I first heard Bolt Thrower in 1992 on mix tape a friend made for me because I moved away ( I was 13). the song was World Eater and it was the heaviest thing I heard up to that point...what an impact. Now, through no influence of my own, my 19 year-old son loves War Hammer 40K and started asking me about Bolt Thrower.
I used to have a Class Axe Platinum Ironbird. Sold it to Scott Eames' (Vital Remains) dad, Jerry for $800 a couple years ago. It was Ferrari red like Trey Azagthoth Ironbird International
There's something mind-blowing about the efficiency of their songs - simple yet creative riffs, a unique sound, that bass sounding like a tank's engine, I can listen to their whole discography while working and enjoy each song. They're amazing. So sad there are so few of good quality live recordings. Hail Bolt thrower !
world eater, realm of chaos and cenotaph are probably three of my most favourite songs to jam along to. ill never forget when i bought realm of chaos as a kid because the cd cover looked cool. i had no idea what i was buying but im glad i did.
This is what melodic death metal should have been. There are many memorable melodies and there is death metal, while in actual melodic death metal there are melodies (which I find mostly subpar), but there is no death metal
Bolt Thrower 🤘🔥🤘 forever. One of my favorite DM bands of all times ! There's honestly not a single bad album in their whole discography. My personal top 3 : Warmaster, In Battle There Is No Law, Mercenary.
🤘All of Them,, Thanks Bro my FAVORITE Band🤘 I 🖤 this Album 1988-In battle there is no law, 1988-Realm of Chaos & 1991-War Master & 2001-Honour velour pride ...🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏
Salvo was the first song I ever learned to play all the way through. Shortly after the groove on Killchain kicked my ass for the longest time. Bolt Thrower are easily one of the greatest death metal bands of all time, and my all-time favorite.
cudos to the mix/master people ! consistent wall of noise/death full rich thick and heavy but yet all dynamics and well defined over all instruments. all their productions are such ear pleasers.
Loved all of this, so many I knew but just not the actual names, unless it was something I really was fond of like ‘World Eater’ or ‘The IVth Crusade’. Would have loved to hear your take on ‘The Killchain’ in there!
