Blended and bottled by Buffalo Trace,.......Not distilled. I won't get fooled again. Every store should pay everyone $25 dollars to take a bottle. You nailed this one T-Rex.

Ive tried it. Its not bad. Its neutral and average like Terry Bradshaw whiskey. The bottle is pretty. It will look good on the shelf.

When Traveller first came out I didn’t even know who Chris Stapleton was nor did I even care. I didn’t even care what other people started saying about it as we all have different palates and I wanted to know for myself. I bought a bottle of the day it was released in Anchorage for around $33 with tax. Then I tried it and here were my first thoughts. Nose: grape, a light sugary sweet cherry and a very light vanilla. Palate: the sugary sweet cherry and light vanilla are barely there and there is this funky aftertaste that kind of stays with me not in a good way Finish: there really isn’t one at all. Overall: this one is really not for me, however I will revisit it a later time to see if it opens up for the better. Final thoughts: this is the type of whiskey you give to that one friend or family member that you don’t know why you claim them but you do, while you enjoy something a lot better. Then I recently tried it again thinking it could have not been that bad. I was wrong it was worse than the first time. It’s like that funky note was amped up to 10 and I poured the rest of my glass out. I think it very much deserves all the bad ratings it gets and then some. I can’t stand it and now I will either have to give it away or throw it away.

5:11 when you talk about smooth, crushable entry whiskey for beginners, I Don think OGD114 or WT101. So what would be those options at $40 or less? The Benchmark line would be one I would look too. Blantons before all the hype and difficulty to find was my gateway pour for beginners drinking whiskey neat, but now it is Makers or Buffalo Trace. What is the bottle you keep around that is low proof and crushable for beginners?

On second thought after hearing your take on that bottle it makes me think they put Benchmark whiskey in a better bottle and called it a day. Yet for the price of Benchmark its hard to complain.

There’s so many bottles at 30.00 that are way better! E Craig sm batch, K Creek 9, Russell’s 10yr, 1792 sm batch, 4 Roses sm batch, Bulliet, just to name a few:) Traveler is a money grab and a way to get rid of cheap Canadian whiskey:)
