Classic example of a show that has an amazing first season but went off the rails. Man the first season was so good. I think people would have rather had the first season play out over multiple seasons and have the ending of the show had been when Dolores escaped and would have been a much more popular show consistently

@tristansmith8960 the reason being is that white thing is a robot humanity built, and lost the war to when the robots rebelled. Shooting them didn't work, it just pissed them off more. So to answer your question, it's there are no more guns because they were taken from humans when they lost to war against the machines. To answer the Op, yes it did survive a .50 cal barrage. It defeated everything thrown at them.
