I don't own a ridge and wouldn't need that accessory if I did, but I think you're spot on with the transit card. If I was a regular transit commuter I could see that being front and center all the time. Great for those who need it, an easy skip for those who don't.
Thanks for the video, I’m a fan of the Ridge wallet, I ordered one of these the other day and plan to use it for my work access card. I can’t imagine using it for a cc card since you would loose the rf protection.
I never used it for a credit card. Tesla card or sometimes drivers license. Card I use most frequently. On a side note now that Marques BrownLee joined Ridge. I'm excited to see what ridge has plans. Maybe magsafe accessories?
Keycards are extremely common at office spaces where I’m from. Wouldn’t really consider it niche. Same with public transport cards, but those have been replaced by a mobile app so that’s less useful for me. Otherwise hotel key cards are also a good purpose, but that’s kinda situational.
I would use it for a card that would have the numbers on the back or a hotel key card if it's a tap. But at the same time, you lose the one side that shows the wallet's color off, especially if you're using a custom plate.
I would like to see how access to the other cards works out. With my ridge (like) wallet I keep the two I use the most as the first and last card. It looks like perhaps the card directly under this quickdraw attachment may be a bit difficult to access using the thumb push. At least without pushing the quickdraw card as well. The ID or transit cart is a good idea. Maybe next will be a space in the exterior of the wallet where the CC transmitter can go similar to a simcard slot. It would have to be cut and removed from the credit card, but then it would provide tap ability.
Nice idea… but it kinda defeats the purpose as the external card covers the top cover. Should just get the cheapest ridge on sale if wanna pair it with this “quickdraw”… but i dig it… 😅
Doesn't this render the "ridge" of the ridge wallet useless though? I mean, sure, you now have one quick access card, but it blocks the ridge and keeps you from reaching all your other cards (unless you don't mind pushing out the transit pass or ID you have outside)
I just want to know how everyone feels about using ID cards with ridge wallets??? Do yall keep it inside and outside ? Doss keeping it outside wear and tear faster ?? Does keeping all your card wear and tear faster in the ridge wallet ??
Soooo, The front of your wallet is now just your card? So much for needing any special offerings like Carbon Fiber, Damascus, etc. cause you won't see it.
The Ridge always destroyed my cards in around 6 months. A good alternative for a small footprint wallet is Anson Calder. Love mine and never looked back.
The ridge wallet is a hunk of mental it’s not comfortable and it’s costs a lot of money. But I will say I have been looking at anson calder for years still have not purchased one but I would love to one day
Ridge pricing is ridiculous. There are a few other brands that have become really popular for a fraction of the price. They also have lifetime warranties
I always just wonder how tired Mark must be from reviewing EDC card holder variants over the last 3-5 years. I mean if it's not another piece of plastic, it a single piece of leather folded three times, stitched across the bottom with a snap closure. 😴 I'm tempted to send in one of mine just to give him something new to look at. 😎🤣 (sarcasm) Cheers! 🍺
Theres this REALLY UNIQUE WALLET by a pakistani company named Waldor its called ATOM-X i have seen nothing like it hope you would do a review on it and their other products
This is definitely not for me. I actually like taking my cards out of my Ridge wallet. It's super easy and I like fidgeting with it. Even the cards in the middle are easy to access. Plus this thing actually ruins the beautiful minimalist look of the Ridge wallet.
sorry ridge. no value added whatsoever since i can use the cash strap on the other side to do the same thing you are selling with this extra piece to do.
It’s the dumbest product I have seen this year. Besides being stupid looking and expensive it hides the beauty of the wallet. Oh! did I say it only holds one card. A big PASS.
