All so very true. Also, if you write/create within a genre, explore outside that genre sometimes. It's good for perspective and learning new techniques.

This is excellent advice @DavidAlastairHayden. Yes! Though it may seem counterintuitive, reading in other genres can only strengthen the mastery you develop over the one you choose to work in most. Thanks for offering this!
