The main reason why the divorce rate is so low in India is that under the Hindu law both partners have to give consent in order to legally divorce each other . So many estranged couples prefer to separate rather than divorce for that reason.

So he wants to say that arrange marriage are good because they last? And what about explotiation happen in india upon women(majority) and to their families. Its better to find someone else or be alone if there is toxicity around your in law and husband. What about dowry? What about materializing women is working and child making machine?

Divorce is low in country like India , not because of wise parents who choose best partner for their kids. Divorce is low there because of how the society is gana treat them when they get divorced (specially the way a divorced women is gana be treated wrong , even from her own family). The parent way of trying to scare their kids by showing how love marry = divorce is just so soooooooo wrong. Why not teach you kids to be a better person and a better partner ¿ Tolerating the other persons behavior and disrespect, in the name of “Compromise” , fearing to be ashamed in front of the society, these are the reasons for 1.5% divorce rate in India. I have always liked the way sadhguru speaks and his perspective on life and living. But suddenly today , him showing the divorce rate in India and other country to justify Arrange marriage has broken my heart. I am not against arrange marriage. Definitely there is good and bad to everything. But showing divorce rate like this is very wrong way of trying to prove your point. Arranged marriage was okay in my mind. But my parents tell me that most others will not marry people out of their caste in an arranged marriage. If that is the case. It does become a prison. But in love marriage , they are accepting other caste also for marriage. Maybe the next generation will accept arranged marriages also in this way.

I admire the man and learnt a lot from Sadhguru, but I strongly disagree here : divorce (parting ways) is not necessary a failure. You can part ways in happiness and/or stay in an unhappy marriage your whole life. Also the fact that 98.5% of Indian women stay married does not mean that "it works", many women are mistreated in their marriage have no choice to divorce (socially or financially) in India and everywhere else.

He's been giving two antagonistic statements. He said, when it's arranged by more responsible people like parents (who also turn out to be one's best well-wisher), it works better. And then he says, he chose the girl himself. Yes, perhaps India’s divorce rates are very low even with arranged marriage, but that doesn’t mean those couples have a real concious of what the true happiness is or what is a person’s real needs and value.
