This is the place to go for all your fruit trees and even some spice plants/trees ., Great honest advice , great prices, exceptional variety and post sales support . Al is not just trying to sell you something and be done with you. He genuinely wants you to succeed with your trees.Worth the drive from anywhere in south Fl.

in my country the plants are usually planted and left alone, only cleaned and cared for one or two months later. I am often moved to see creative and innovative farmers like in this show, trying to create high quality crops. I am touched and very inspired by this show. This will be a passion for me farming, thank you and keep the spirit. Greetings from Indonesia🙏🙏

Starfruit, I believe high in oxalates is the problem with affecting the kidneys.
@somerandomperson1503
@somerandomperson1503 Год назад
In addition to extremely high oxalate levels, they also contain a powerful toxin called caramboxin that is extremely damaging to the nervous system and can cause seizures, neurodegenerative disease and even death (even in people with healthy kidneys).

For those who want to eat lots of starfruit you have to cut off the tips of the star that's where the oxalates concentrate according to Green dreams.

@@inchristalone25 and the majority of the bitterness... Eating a starfruit is so much better by doing the following. 1. Cut/Bite off top and bottom 2. Cut/Bite off star tips 3. Cut/Split along "seams" at the star tips You'll get perfect starfruit spears that separate from the seed sacks.

The conventional wisdom is that Donnie is not a very good avocado, but Al tells us that if left on the tree longer until July or August, it's actually a very good and not watery avocado. It seems to me that's the case with ALL Florida avocados--they're picked too early and rushed to market before they reach their prime. All the Monroes are picked and shipped out by the first week of January, and yet their season should last until the middle of February. Growers start to pick Simmonds at the end of June, but when I had my tree, I found they weren't really very good until the middle of August.

Thanks... U definitely gave us some valuable information. 🙏 Everything that u said is correct. I've been growing Moringa for 2 years. I finally had success last year. We had 5 freezes in NW FL zone 9.🤦 But it was the 50° nights that killed them. I started new ones last month. I will grow them in 30 gallon containers. I spray them w vinegar about once a week, more when it rains, to fight fungus. And I will be growing them in partial Sun. I have some 12" water bottles that I use as my starters. Hopefully they can last 6 months in those. 🤞 I'm planning on overwintering them until next Spring. I plan to be moved into my house by then. 👩🏽‍🌾🙏😏🥂

I agree that bananas are a pain in the butt! They require so much management, and once they go in they are hard to get rid of. I’ve phased them out until a future planting, right now I’m focused on the 160 fruit or nut bearing trees I already have in the ground. The worst part of the bananas is the fire ants they attract in my area.

Oh yeah 😎? Oxalates: Raw Spinach has Oxalalic Acid which combines with serum Calcium, forming Calcium Oxalate, which is insoluble. Calcium Oxalate can form kidney stones. However, when Spinach is canned 🥫 the heat 🔥 of the canning process, destroys the Oxalalic Acid in the Spinach. Here in Atlanta, Georgia I prefer canned 🥫 Spinach to the local Collard Greens

What my parents did with matured balimbi, just before turning yellow, gathered the fruits and dry them. We add the dried fruit to soups, and stew fish. The taste of the dried balimbi stays the same.
