Today we're gonna be taking a look at the dumbest thing I've heard all week and in a while. If you workout, you are fatphobic Twitter: / xenoshot Twitch: / xenoshots
I’m literally so unconfident in my body right now and was much happier when I was in better shape. I’m starting to go back to the gym every other day soon now that I have the time to. I just want to be happier. I don’t understand how this chick could be so insensitive to us and how it feels to be not in shape.
I couldn't imagine a group of non fat people showing up at a pro fat rally and chasing them away with weapons like what happened during the civil rights movement in the USA
Exactly ! I’m a 5’0 female and last year I weighed almost 130lbs! I had a tummy too, it was literally awful although I wasn’t “fat” but I was on the way, so I ate less and when I noticed I got down to 107, I started eating more healthy to try and maintain that weight. I refuse to allow myself to be chubby or fat. It’s IMO not a good look (well on me of course) I feel so confident being thin! Chubby ? Nah ….
I'm so sick of people trying to compare race to things you actually can have definite control over. This is taking victimhood too damn far. I workout several times a week because I like how it feels and yeah I'm losing weight but I didn't do it because I feel a certain way about overweight people. Being black or any other race is something you have no control over, working out is recreational, fun, healthy and weight loss is a side effect of that and there is no phobia to enjoying the good results that come with the gym.
also, we are meant to exercise! we are meant to move! working out - whether it be running, walking, lifting weights, swimming - is essential for good health and ensures a longer/happier life… like … are our body’s needs fatphobic then?
Yeah, not that people who are overweight are considered lazy, dirty, are mocked constantly and even have creeps posting their pics online without permission to mock them. A lot of them are mocked when even going to a gym to work out, they're used in media as a source of comedy like they're a joke. It's super hard to find good looking plus sized clothes in a lot of stores and so on.
@@Maria-he1db While I sympathize with obese people struggling to lose weight (especially when their weight is rooted in an eating disorder or in being taught poor nutritional habits as a child), obesity is not an uncontrollable, innate characteristic of someone, like race or ethnicity are. That being said, I agree that the theoretical concept of fatphobia is generally very harmful, especially when it results in bullying.
I love the logic here. "If you work out for appearance, your fatphobic." The same logic applied differently: "If you cut your hair to look like the other sex, your cisphobic." Its not bad to want to look a certain way. What *is* bad is telling people its bad to do so. (Unless what they're doing is actually self destructive)
People have all sorts of different preferences. Some are into tall people. Some like blondes. Some prefer women with small breasts. Some prefer men that have facial hair and hairy chests. Some prefer people that are thin and petite. And yes, some people prefer those who are bigger or full figured. You are attracted to what you're attracted to and you can't really change that. You can't tell someone that is more attracted to short petite women that they should also be attracted to full figured plus size women and then get angry and call them fat phobic when they aren't. That's just absurd!
For a second, I thought it was odd that a gym wouldn't allow sports bras, but then realized that they just wanted you wear a shirt over your bra like everyone else does.
Yeah I mean I wear a bra to workout at home. When I'm more confident in my body I'll probably go like that to the gym or a vest. I'm glad wearing a shirt isn't a rule at my gym tbh.
Most people don’t get muscular because other people think it’s the beauty standard, but because they think that they look good. Doesn’t mean that they’re fat phobic. Also being fat is generally something you can control, being black or disabled isn’t.
Yeah. And besides sometimes it isn’t easy to lose weight even when you work out on a regular basis. I can relate to it but I can just say this lady is LOCO IN THE COCOA
exactly, a lot of people work out because they want to be happy with their bodies. they want to have something to work towards that they can be happy about. My brother started working out because he wanted to feel better about his small stature because he always got bullied and now he is one of the most confident and strong people that i know.
I am extremely fat phobic. I workout to avoid weight stigma and mainly for looks. I love it when clothes look good. I also love the health aspect of it, I feel good, sometimes I can run as fast as my dogs so why the hell not?? Places have rules either follow or leave. It's like me crying for some places not letting me take my little dog in which happens often. Narcissism and entitlement.
As far as the second one, I used to work at a gym where you couldn’t go sleeveless for hygiene reasons. You had to wear sleeves or rent a tshirt. It was a rule. You followed it or you couldn’t work out. No crying necessary.
Lool what are these weird rules in American gyms... The US is such an obese country, you'd think they'd wanna make it easier to work out not harder. I don't get it...
I used to weigh almost 300 lbs and when I lost 120 lbs it literally changed my life for the better in ever single conceivable way. Edit: Yo! Thanks for the 1k likes quick update I just ran my first marathon. Keeping off the weight! I don't plan on getting fat again.
I wish I had y’all’s commitment and determination to weight loss, it’s really impressive and it’s such a shame that the people in the vid are creating problems out of thin air instead of improving themselves. Keep up the good work boys
well rather than internalising it which wont always be conducive, she doesnt to let it out. Nothing wrong with that. Irrespective of whether what the gym did was right or wrong, she strongly felt it was wrong and hence felt obligated to share that with the rest of the world. so it gains publicity, and the "wrong doing" wont be repeated again. This is my reasoning atleast
@@jacobvacha5898 Establishments are legally entitled to having dress codes. They always did and always will. That won't change due to a snowflake reaction on social media. I was thrown out twice due to lacking appropriate attire ( from a fancy restaurant and a church in Venice ).
I'm training for physics show next year. Trying to look my best. I guess for the next few months I'm the worst kind of fatphobic there is...🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Yes , don't you get it? I worked out to stand my ground to shit (now I don't get fucked and have made real friends cause I can stand up for them too) But being fatphobic is better . I don't have a problem with nobody just leave me alone.
That's so dumb because based on my life experience, I'd say the average black guy takes better care of his body than the average white guy. If I were to go by percentages that work out.
"If you like to buy nice clothes just because of how you look and not to keep yourself from freezing to death...You are badclothofobic!"...Makes sense.
Her video is insane. I work out because it makes me feel better, and I do strive for a good body because I dislike my ugly skinnyfat body. I haven't been societally indoctrinated; this is just how I feel lmao.
I mean, it's embarrassing to be kicked out of the gym. In my country you're allowed to work out at the gym wearing a sports bra with no shirt over it, no problem with that. I'd feel embarrassed too if they kicked me out... But it has nothing to do with fatphobia. It's odd (to me), but it's not fatphobia.
I'd be just as upset as she was. I mean did they not say it was okay for today and then turn around and tell her to leave? Don't really think it's fat phobic but they're maybe trying to reduce sexual harassment
To be fair that lady has some tig ole bitties. If she was running on the tread mill those things could pop right out (which I personally wouldn’t mind) but as a business owner I can see why. I personally wouldn’t care if women wear sports bras, but if it is their policy you either take it or leave it.
@@monnkey12 sports bras are designed to prevent tits from popping out as you say. The thing that really bothers me is that they shouldn't have done that, you can wait until the end of the day and tell her to change it for the next days or similar.
@@monnkey12 what? Im sorry but sport bras literally prevent that from happening and nobodys sport bra has ever pop they titty out in history ever. If she knew that she isnt allowed wearing a sport bra (idk why thats a rule weird to me and i disagree with it for alot of reasons) then she shoulda respected them but if she didnt know i mean who wouldnt feel embarrassed 🤷😬
I'd be crying too tbh (can't control emotions at times due to a disability), but if it really was for a stupid reason, not because I wasn't wearing a shirt, there are literally shirts designed for being worn during workouts. She has no excuse for not putting a shirt on
The way she connected obesity to race without realizing that she was being the racist is actually alarmingly disgusting. oh I am fully pissed off now...I feel like I want to hit 20workouts today because of this lmao
@@HerMajesty1 that literally wasn't the point and stop using the word communist you guys loosely use this word in America without any real context or knowledge of its meaning
They make SOME decent points like how skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy and chubby doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy. Or how people do tend to face bullying from it. But if I workout to look a certain way it's because I JUST WANT TO. And if I'm not attracted to you, it doesn't mean I hate you or I think you're bad or something, I'm just not attracted to you🤷🏾♂️ I'm all for body positivity and self love but stop trying to make people out to be fatpbobic if they're literally just not attracted to you.
Some people hate themselves so much that they see and project hate wherever they go. Just love yourself, someone will hate you for some dumb shit no matter what. Its not important. But loving yourself no matter who hates you and why is important. Do you, bb.
Throw racist in with that as well; and no, I have no idea what racism has to do with not liking kayaks, but as you've no doubt noticed, whatever the debate is about, these headcases will go to extreme lengths to link it to their favourite subject. You afraid of snakes? You're a racist. Why? Dunno! But they'll think up a reason. You can't rationalise with these ijits so the best thing is to just ignore them - enjoy your life as you like to live it and let them turn on each other.
That first girl is really reaching, wasn't being overweight a sign of status and health for a long time? Obesity was a sign of having the means to get enough food and not working a physically demanding job. I don't understand why they think not wanting to be something means you have a phobia of it, they clearly don't understand what a phobia is. I do not have panic attacks thinking about becoming fat but I don't want to be fat. It's honestly insulting to people who have *actual* phobias. Also, I don't think it's wrong to fear something that can prematurely end your life when you have full control over it.
Obesity is not rooted in racism, you're correct that actually overweight people were seen as high society and wanted. And we aren't "conditioned to hate fat people" we're taught to stay healthy and in shape
You're completely right to the point that we had a disease called "King's Disease," aka the gout. It's a type of inflammatory arthritis connected to "lavish diets." Basically, only monarchs and other nobles had the disease because everybody else had to work themselves to near death. These days gout is common among obese people who eat similar horrid diets and do nothing else.
At first I thought the second girl was gonna go on to say that there were thinner women with their abdomen showing, who didn't get talked to. And I was gonna say agree with her that that's a legit double standard and not fair. But that didn't happen apparently lol. She was just upset that she got reminded of the rules, and that's all.
A friend of mine got called transphobic once ... background story: he dated this girl and they went to a bar to have some drinks. Before they got to move back to one of their places to have some sexy time together she had a schlong between her legs and he told her that he's not interested in sleeping with her. So she accused him of being transphobic ... just for the reason he didn't sleep with her. Weird times we live in ...
Dude, same. My default weight is 100 lbs, and I have been skinny shamed by not just bigger women, but by men, too. I LOSE weight because of stress and a hyperactive thyroid so keeping on weight is really hard for me. So I started putting on fat and packing on muscle since it weighs more than fat. I got up to 145, was slim thicc, strong and absolutely loving myself, and NOW I'm fatphobic? 😂 Can't fucking win. It's so stupid. Like just let me be me.

Hate towards others just because they're fat is indeed bad and that part I agree with. But if you hate someone just because they exercise and eat better, then you're worse than fatphobics.
i dont hate fat people but i dislike them, being fat usually shows signs of low self control since they cant control what they eat, laziness, incapability to change anything and overall just not my type of person to be around as they cant even put their mind to something
My Grandmother, my Mother, and I, all have lymphoedema ( I fear my daughter has it too...). It's nic name is the "Fat Disease". Swelling occurs around areas of malfunctioning lymph nodes. I am offended. Offended on so many levels! I am also amused that these folks, when they believe they are making a point, always add Black People in their warped view of thinking. Now, I am getting off my soapbox.💪🏿😁 Stay healthy and well Y'all!
These people view people who are minorities like they are disabled or something, they also take them for fools or talk down to them. Basically they infantilize them. They like playing the victim
They are just lazy people that don’t want to make a better life for themselves. This women is lazy and clearly doesn’t workout. She is just saying this because she wants to find a way to hate on other people that are more successful then her.
If you ever bought any product (lip gloss, foundation makeup, dress, handbag, hair tie, hair pin or even comb your hair) to make yourself look a little better, (by her logic) she is supporting racism???Nice dress she got there and the color suits her.
A phobia is a fear of something. If you're fatphobic you fear being fat. How is it a bad or discriminatory thing to fear functioning worse, sleeping worse, having a weak immune system, increased chance of getting cancer, getting heart disease, increased chance of stroke and decreased life expectancy? Fatphobia is not a real problem, the problem is people not being able to handle the truth that obesity isn't a good or healthy thing to be.
Im so tired of these "Body positivity" people comparing race and sexuality to being fat. I'm overweight, black, and gay, and guess which one of the three can actually be changed? Ding Ding Ding! My weight. Being fat is not being oppressed, nor is it something to be celebrated. Being fat is a CHOICE, even if its not the preferred or wanted choice. Obviously no one should be bullied for being fat, that usually causes emotional eating(thats how I got my weight), and makes things worse. Fat people should be allowed to live but being fat should not be celebrated. Also, why is being fat and binge eating being seen as liberating but being skinny and anorexic damaging?
@@richardjamesclemo6235 that's some heavily flawed logic especially when it apply it to other things like racism and different forms of bigotry. 3:30 Unless there was a thin woman or thin women in the gym dressed in sports bras and not asked to leave, I don't know what that had to do with fatphobia. Gyms have dress codes. She would have been kicked out of some of my local gyms and not others, BUT it would have been a matter of breaking the dress code. I can't remember now how I broke the dress code (it's been MANY years ago now), but I did. I experienced the exact same thing as she did. Told it was okay this once, then told not long thereafter that they needed me to leave. Was I embarrassed? Hell yeah! BUT, I was upset with myself for the screw-up AND for not leaving immediately upon learning I had broken the dress code. I feel badly that she was so devastated. If she was a friend of mine I would try to help her reframe the experience. These days it takes a lot to embarrass me! I would ask if she had been given the dress code. If she's claiming fatphobia, I would want to know if she saw a thin woman there being treated differently. If she had on another day, I would let her know that clearly the management was cracking down. If it was the same day, that IS messed up. It would be time to find a new gym. I felt so bad for my daughter during HS. They would raise a stink about what she wore. On several occasions I was asked to bring her a change of a shirt or shorts. I was livid after the third time when I walked by numerous girls who were breaking the same rule, and badly, but they were never given any trouble. The only difference I could find was her weight and eventually I confronted the school over their discriminatory, uneven application of the dress code. They couldn't even deny it. I pointed out girls walking past the office who were breaking the dress code. Also, why call past homeroom/first hour? If someone has made it through 5 out of 7 classes and lunch... So, I am acknowledging that dress codes can be applied in a discriminatory way, but that doesn't seem to be what she described.
I have a chest and big ish belly (average body type with thick thighs and noticeable tum) and absolutely AGREE, If a gym says don’t wear a bra without a shirt or tank top over it and they ask not to show midsections, I get that cause everyone’s sweat and oils are getting everywhere and they gotta have those mandatory health safety regulations~ Attire regulations are in place at every gym, public pool, ect.) Liked your comment cause I was totally thinking “was she pissed cause someone else came in with the same outfit got a pass and she got kicked?” and then no, of course not XD She showed up in shit that broke dress code and they didn’t even kick her right away, just asked hey here are the rules you agreed to, follow them next time plz 🙏🏻 Have a good day and much kindness and peace to y’all!
At my previous gym it was a similar rule. No sportsbra for women and men were not allowed to be topless, Tank top or t-shirt on. Ive seen both really big guys get warned and big muscular guys get warned about it. I guess the difference is that they acted like adults, put on something and that was that. They didnt run out to their car to imidiately record a tiktok
The word ‘problematic’ and any word that ends with phobic triggers my fight or flight reflexes at this point. These people are insane and they feed off of being outraged. They need to feel like a victim to cope with their miserable lives
Fat shaming is never OK. It’s a form of destructive criticism that just breaks people down instead of helping them. I’m losing weight to feel better and have more function in my life. I don’t hate myself. I like myself enough to want to improve.
Body positivity was made for people who were born or via an unfortunate accident have an appearance different than what society calls “beautiful”. Yet again that movement shouldn’t be an excuse for things that shouldn’t be normalized, like obesity.
I will be 53 next week. I eat well and exercise several times per week. I don't do this for any woman. I just do it because it makes me feel younger and healthier. I don't go to the gym. I can do this from home. I think everyone can easily do the same thing. Let's all just be happy and be nice to everyone. Great video man. I love your channel 🤘

It doesn’t mean they despise broccoli and everyone who eats it, they themselves just don’t like it.
I'm pretty sure that the gym rules say that not because the staff hates seeing fat bellies (or any bellies, since I assume this rule applies to everyone), but because people usually sweat when working out, and all that sweat better stayed on their T-shirts than on training equipment.
I'm kinda fat and some of my friends talked me into going to the gym whit them, it's a surprisingly positive environment. Nobody judges you, people are saying hello to everyone when they enter the changing room, everyone respects the rules and it's pretty good.

I lost 85 lbs. in the first 7 month, and never looked back. Now I am 38 years old, and in better health than I was at the age of 18. And the 1 thing I learned is, fat people who can't lose weight are exactly what everyone thought they were. LAZY! people like the first girl make my blood boil. i feel like she'd be the girl who'd bully me in school because i'm naturally skinny (it's hard for me to gain weight) then bully me when i eventually do gain weight.
Just to mention, the gym that the girl in the 2nd video was talking about was a planet fitness. It’s literally a chain wide PF rule that their dress code for girls is that they can’t wear spaghetti straps, or wear a crop top showing their stomach, or a sport bra alone. It literally had nothing to do with her weight. I’ve been told the exact same thing when i first started going there a long while back, and im skinny as a stick. It is just part of their whole brands mantra of wanting everyone to feel comfortable and to “reduce gym-timidation”
Having been a short skinny guy my entire life (5ft 4in, 125lbs soaking wet, 66 years old now), I learned at a very young age to not give a shit about anything that people say about me. But one thing I did learn, is that I judge people upon how that are on the INSIDE, because what they may be on the outside doesn't really matter very much to me. However, as we all know, too many people are taken in by what that rather startling last lady was talking about.
Everyone saying "fatphobic" when they kinda mean "obesophobic" which is an actual thing that affects the person suffering it, not the fats around them. It's about not wanting to gain weight, to a point you stop going out, eating, and develop eating disorders that can lead to anorexia and death. That's a real thing, and you (people in the video) are wrong if you acuse and attack someone because they suffer a mental illness or similar condition. The pont is that "fat acceptance " is always wrong in ways they don't even grasp yet (Excuse my English, it's not my first language)
Why does every thought and emotion these people have need to be plastered all over social media? I can't imagine posting a video of myself sobbing over anything, let alone this sh*t. And it's such an easy fix. Just put on a t-shirt.
They have their own rights to say what they wanna say, but this is totally cross the line.. Never expect someone will push their opinion so hard, that eventually they starting sound nonsense 💀
Yet another man blaming the woman when she did nothing wrong. Do you know how many skinny girls walk around the gym in a sports bra and spandex shorts and no one tells them to cover up. @@laina8553 sucking it up is suppressing emotions which can result in life long mental and emotional disorders. And the person was trying to emphasize how skinny people are an exception compared to her (although that may or may not be true).
I can't just wear a sports bra at my gym, either and I'm thin. Also, guys aren't allowed to workout shirtless so it's not like it's just fat women who have to follow a dress code at the gym. It's a public space where everyone should feel comfortable, being half-dressed isn't appropriate.
