😆 Potato, love it. Mine bought me a live baby wild bunny. I kept it, loved it for the next 9 years and she hated it ... She should have brought me a 🥔! 😁
My cat bites me gently many times every morning while rubbing his head against me and purrs, he does this to wake me up. He also gives me gentle bites if he wants food. I respect and love him with all that I am and he knows it 💕
My cat use to bring me live birds as gifts in the house and they’d be screaming for dear life and she acted as if i was suppose to ignore that and just be happy she’s so thoughtful😂
Too bad you weren’t!!!! Rest In Kitty Heaven I miss you Kaytoe my Beautiful Black cat used to bring in mice and things of the sort lol squirrels 🐿 they’d be dead the first time I was kinda shocked but after that I just thanked him and picked it up with a papa era towel and put it in the trash it’s the polite thing to do when you host a cat at home especially one that gets to go outside 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛😼😼😼
@@melodywhitlock9275 my cat bites me if I try to pat his belly but if I pull on his tail he purrs like mad he is such a strange cat but I love him heaps plus he is a mad hunter he always brings my dead things he has caught I pat him and then I dig a hole and burie them.
If Your Cat Bites You, Here's What It REALLY Really Means - The damn Cat's going to be taught via aversion therapy *not* to bite you. ~ Assuming you're sane of course.
My cat is the BEST. He was neglected by a neighbor and they also were persistently absent. When I took him in, I remembered that Human/Cat interaction is much like adult/young child except that the cat will not grow up to hold a job, get married, buy a house, etc. So I did not and will not expect too much from him. OK, after ALL THAT, my cat would knock things from a table, dresser, etc. I would scold him gently, he would look at me... - knock more things down.... I had to be careful not to enforce the behavior by bursting out laughing. He did stop after a while. I was raised strictly but I witnessed patient parenting that works and it works best for pets because remember: Two humans can exchange ideas in a conversation but it's a bigger challenge when communicating with pets.
As a person who has had cats for nearly my entire life, 9 times out of 10 (unless you are bugging them), if a cat is biting he is doing it as a way to play. If an owner allows the biting to continue, the cat will continue to do it. Biting their favorite human is rarely done with malicious intent. It annoys me when people who don't know much about a thing, make videos about that thing...equally annoying is people in the comment section choosing to comment even though they don't have a clue either 🙄
Agree- usually total play and they don't break the skin -they may drag their teeth on your skin-pure love and play.. sometimes it breaks as our skin is probably thinner than their own kind. I let mine do it because they have a short life-i have no idea what happened to her as a younger cat -maybe she never got to play with a bigger cat or her Mom to learn limits- I try not to discipline them - just love and respect them
Usually playful, but not always, otherwise why would they selectively do it more with certain people rather than others? Some of the time they are doing it, not just for the sake of being playful or out of instinct but because they don't like being bothered, or it's because its their way of saying you're not as high on the pecking order, which is why biting can escalate to hissing, most of the time though the cat will put on an irritable sounding meow which escalates to hissing, but it will sometimes be accompanied by biting (as I've seen them do this). Infact one of my mates went to stay with his friends for a few weeks and some days he told me they didn't feed the cat so occasionally he would offer to do it around the evening. Now some other days the cat actually was fed earlier in the day and this would only happen on the odd occasion, but one night he was in the kitchen doing himself a cuppa and the cat was basically gawking at him (as it generally did when people went in the kitchen). My friend said he was basically walking out with his tea when the cats meow started sounding more irritable and it started trying to run infront of him and paw and bite at his feet as he was walking. My mate basically said he carried on walking and the cat went under a chair and started hissing at him as he walked past! The reason for this was obviously that the cat had placed the person into a certain role or hierarchy and expected him to fulfill that role, despite the fact that he had already been fed! But the people he was staying with said that the cat did it with his owner all of the time, despite the fact that he didn't see it once the whole time he was there and he slept on the sofa! What's my point? My point is that there is always some sort of reason for these things, like cats bringing back a dead (or sometimes live) animal or a sock as a way of showing care or affection or maybe I'm guessing, as a way of familiarising someone with the scent of the animal or thing! A cat wouldn't understand that we aren't built like them, but they clearly have a sort of behavioral pattern and distinct personalities if you can even call it that?!
I really like that your title was the first thing discussed. I stay for the entire video because I was interested in the rest, not because I felt like a prisoner suffering through the first 9/10ths to get to the title. Thanks for doing that, great video.
I know a black lab that was given hugs and smooches all his life, whenever somebody around him is hugging he demands equal attention. He is well known for joining group hugs
My cat has always gently nipped at my hand when I pet him and depending on how hard he bites it means one of two things I've learned. One: he's had enough pets in that area and that's his way of telling me no more. Two: they're his "love bites" and it's not meant to hurt me so much as it's his way of showing affection. He's never bitten me to the point of bleeding or where I know he feels threatened.
My cats bring rats and mice to my front door just to be let in because they saw one of our cat bringing one to the front door and we let them in, so the other cats thought “we need to bring offerings to the door to go inside”🤣🤣
My cats chirp/chatter at birds, squirrels and rabbits in my neighborhood. I think it's adorable and sometimes talk to them while they do it. They seem to enjoy my company as if I an participating in what they are doing.
I think my cat brings me things because he thinks I'm too stupid to hunt for myself. The fact he doesn't even need to *open* the bag his food comes in escapes him.
Behavior of humans: 1. Narrator explaining the purpose of video to understand animals more. 2. Humans understand animals more after watching the video. 3. Human idiotic behavior didn't change even after understanding animals more so they may make more videos about understanding the animals and get more audience. 4. Realizing that purpose of videos is not to understand animals more but to make more videos about understanding the animals more, to get more of audience, because human behavior didnt change even after understanding the animals more. 5. If videos would work, people would change the behavior based on understanding the animals more.
My cat Whisper (RIP) used to love aggressive playtime. I would put my arm with fist horizontal with the floor and say "attack" and he would come over, flop on his side and grab my arm and start kicking it wildly and biting. Since he was an outdoor cat I never would trim his nails so those could get my hand bloody so I started wearing a glove and long sleeve sweatshirt. I would simulate a struggle by grabbing his face and gently rolling his entire body back and forth or rotating his body in a circular motion.
It depends on how hard the bite is. If it's a nibble, the cat is playing with you. If it draws blood then you've been doing something the cat doesn't like.
I have several bird feeders next to the window and my cat will watch the birds and talk to them. It is so cute. She chirps at the birds. My cats have never bitten me. I have had a lot of cats and kittens. Their tail will tell you when they have had enough of petting. The faster the tail twitches, the more aggressive the cat is getting. Give her some space to calm down.
“parrots are very social animals who love interacting with their twins in the mirror” *looks over to see my bird screaming violently trying to murder its mirror self*
If a cat growls at you it may be that your petting it in a place it feels vulnerable. Like the stomach,or reach down to pet it on the head when it doesn’t see your hand and it’s suprised . I just brought a semi feral 5 month old cat home that someone abandoned. In 2 days he has settled down some and likes to be petted,BUT he doesn’t like you touching his stomach,or your reaching down to pet his head from above and being startled. We’ll see in the coming weeks how he progresses.😊
I have a cat that seems to be much smarter than the rest of my cats and he actively uses his own forms of communications to get his messages across in ways we can understand. For example he varies his meows quite a bit more than any other cat I've ever seen. And he has a particular meow when he wants to be petted, vs when he wants someone to scratch his neck (has a skin condition) he'll reach out and touch your arm and fheb pet his own head repeatedly when he wants petted and he'll do it over Nad over until you get the message. He calls out if he's in the house and doesn't know where you are, until you answer so he can come to you. If we're giving one of the other cats a bath and they don't like it and yowl out he will yowl exactly the same way as though he's the one getting a bath. Lastly if you're petting him and he's really enjoying it, if you go to stop he'll reach out and claw your arm aggressively to stop you from pulling your hand away and he'll pull it back to him.
Cats reign Supreme, they think. So they do whatever they want, when they want. But they really love laying in you chair or the middle of your bed; its their you need reminded.
Cats can bite or nibble to show their love for you, its how they do it to their love partners, so love comes as a bite to you too. however if you get teeth marks, that's aggression.
When cats freeze with their mouth open, they're not "tasting the air". This usually happens when they have a sensory overload. Anyone watching a cat lick its bottom notices this. They need to take a moment to clear the sensory overload.
just yell "NO" like you would to a toddler! Never hit a cat, a loud yell will send them the message not to do that again as cats usually hate loud noises! Or sometimes a spray bottle of water works because they hate the sound of the spray or to get wet! Have had cats/kittens for almost 75 years! They're like little babies or toddlers really so that's how to discipline them! They need that every now and then plus a lot of love and affection and a great many love to be talked to like you would a baby i.e. "baby talk" and be sung to! Blessings~ ❤😻
I have a cat that won't let my boyfriend in my room with me. And if he does, she has to be in there between us. She always puts things in her litter box. All kinds of stuff. She is quite the cat. She has to be near me all the time. These videos have helped because I understand her a little more. She has quite the personality.😾
Dominance and insecurity. It’s hard to accept because we feel so much for our pets but in this sort of case you clearly haven’t won the respect of your pet yet and neeed to start from step 1
I used to have a cat who was so jealous of my husband. He could be sleeping next to me, not touching me or making noise. Then my husband would walk through the room and say something, and the cat would instantly become a crying, squirming, drooling mess, all up in my face.
@@katphish30 That is so funny. My neighbor had a cat that he gave her a little smack before he went to work for something she did. When he got home he had shit on his side of the bed. Lol !!! 😾😾
Our cat bites to say that she wants to play fight (not ball, nor string). We say "fight?". She sits & waits until we put welding gloves on. I say "safe". She pounces: holding with her front claws, biting & bunny kicking the gloves like mad. She fights with her brother & sister every day, but never aggressive like glove-time.
Person: thanks for the gift. Cat: she hasn’t hunted even one rat. Before she starves we need to step up her hunting game. Here, lesson one start with a sock.
The entire point of life: Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. Mathew 20: 28. We are no different. This entire life is a representation of the spiritual warfare going on. Good vs evil. God isn't a flying man in the sky, but the actual representation of Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Light, etc. Not metaphor, but literally, like an extra demintional wavelength of thought, emotions, and intent. The devil is the opposite wavelength, pain, fear, hate, anger, darkness, etc. Human life is serving one of these two. Not a man in the sky, actual sentient collective universal Love. However, humans are primatives, we make mistakes. It's in our nature, since the fall, to go down the wrong path. This means at some time each one of us has served darkness to some degree. God understands our limited understanding of our own actions, so he gave us forgiveness, though sacrificing himself in human form as Jesus Christ. It is our duty to accept that sacrifice, get the forgiveness, and be better, helping others be better, and spreading this wavelength of Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Light, etc, thoughout the universe. But God had to make a way for us to get to this place spiritually, this is why evidence is not allowed. Evidence will make you believe, using the fear of absolute punishment to change your behavior, but that won't make you better, just scared. Faith makes you better. It is what redeemes us, not our works. Faith is the hope that things get better, that justice always prevails, that we're at least loved by our creator. But it has to be Faith in Jesus, because of his sacrifice. And there can't be evidence to point us to him, because Love had to be fair. If there were a code in our DNA, what about everyone born before genetic sequencing? If there were a book with the solar system thosands of years ago, what would stop an evil person from hiding/destroying it? If it were something you had to go to, what about the geographically isolated, imprisoned, or enslaved. If it were a train of logic, what about the uneducated, or mentally slow? Not to mention all the people born before schools. Love cannot give to one without giving to the other. So the key to salvation had to be something everyone has access to. The only thing is Faith. This is why God puts it upon your heart to learn about these things, even if it's only to criticize, or hate. God is everywhere, because Love is everywhere, and so is the devil, because hate is everywhere. They're in your head all the time, regardless of weather or not you accept that. They whisper inside your heart, giving you ideas. But more than that, they're inside everyone's heart. This is how they get things done. They corrordanate us like pieces on a chess board. The only difference is, we get to chose who's side we're playing for. At the end of our life, we go to that team's home base, Heaven, or Hell. A place where all that exists is those wavelengths. Hate, pain, anger, fear, darkness; or Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Pleasure, Light. The choice is yours to make. But you cannot go to Heaven with hate in your heart. You must forgive, repent, and spread joy for those around you. These are sentient eternal controlling forces in our universe. Heaven and Hell are very real places, I've seen them. Those steps prime your soul for a meeting with God. Very literally. Once you've done all four, in that order, you get divine revelation, with all the evidence you'll ever need. They are, forgive your parents, break down before Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and read the Bible. Step four takes three books to get the revelation. I recommend Genesis, Mathew, and then either Luke, Psalms, or proverbs. The order of the steps is important, step 1 has to come before step 3. I can state that for an absolute certainty that these steps always work. Please, take your salvation seriously. See for yourself. Do those steps. Jesus Christ is Lord. It's all True.
@@jamesmayle4712 ah, I see, God is such an attention seeker. FYI, Heaven doesn't exist. You are free to believe in that nonsense, just as people believe in fairy tales.

My next door neighbor was in her rocking chair, nursing the baby, when the cat, Supperman, carried in his mouth the head half of a black snake and dropped it on the white carpet beside her. A moment later, her four year old ran in holding the tail end and squatted down to try to put it back together! Doreen leaped up and fled with the baby.
My Cat always takes Prawns out with her claws and is so annoying when you step on one, and apparently cats mimic bird noises when they see one as an evolved hunting strategy.
I'm ALSO in that club !!! My Tuxedo, Polydactyl Cat has me up at 4:30 every morning, and, she also has a few other things she does at certain times. We can train them - but, it IS mostly that they actually train US !!! LOL ! 😻😻😻
2:43 Parrot beaks keep growing. They sharpen them so they don't overgrow. Parrots, budgerigars and cockatiels do this especially when they are dozing. We once had a budgie who didn't do that. Eventually the beak got so long that we had to shorten it by hand. And another one that wasn't quite healthy and had a crooked beak. He also sharpened it but one-sidedly we had to improve it again and again by hand.
When your cat bites you, calmly walk away. I did this to my cat consistently. After 3 weeks it learned not to bite when I pet it or when we play. Sometimes she'll even catch herself about to bite and stops herself.
@@peneleapai celebrate them like a potty training child when they do things that you want them to do, and completely ignore them when they do something you don't. They hate being ignored when they want attention. 💚
@@bastionsea2829 I teach ferals and crazy kittens by going "oww" really loud like it really hurts. They end up being scared to bite too hard. They definitely have empathy.💚
@@mahoganyskye3854 that is worth a try. I say it but not loud enough. Makes perfect sense! I hope it works with my cat. It's getting less and the bite isn't so hard. We have a ways to go. I play with him every day. And he has toys laying all over. He's never lacking anything. Lots of love too. 🤷
My favorite fact here is the fact that dogs may see hugging and kissing between humans as aggression and try to break it up, and may not be that they are jealous at all.📌
That’s not really a fact, maybe or strangers are doing it, but if it’s their owners their jealous and they think they run the show. Don’t be so quick to think ppl like this know everything, they don’t, most of these are opinions!
I have a cat that was taught to bite by his former owner. Or more likely did not teach enough kindness. But on the other hand my cat bites to show love and bites to show anger, bites to show playfulness and bites to show that he's had enough petting. In general he doesn't bite enough to break the skin. And I think he likes that I understand him.
I have sustained some injuries by his claws but it’s always because he tries to flop over and rolls off my lap, and then accidentally scratches me. He’s a clumsy goofy cuddly lovebug.
Oh no he has a brother and they play often. He attacks almost any small thing, from bottle caps to pipe cleaner, he just bonded with me from a very young age.
Especially Eclipse. He loves being held on my shoulder and carried around like a baby, every time I turn my back he’s taken my chair! Not to mention how he usually meows good morning, so long as we’re both awake.
Here's a little life advice: if you're starting a comment on the internet with the word "actually," you should just stop typing. You'll live a happier life.
just to throw a little fun fact in there: chickens can purr too. I discovered a few weeks ago, when I sat in the shed to monitor if my new hens would be safe. when they sat an me to cuddle and sleep. really sounds like a cat xD

My wife was collecting leaves and keeping them in a scrap book but stopped for winter. The next spring my wife's cat "Violet" would bring in leaves of various types and arrange them on the carpet and sometimes include candy wrappers found outside. I think she was trying to tell Chelle to get back to her hobby now that the bad weather broke.
“Why did my cat bite me?” Could be: -Playing -looking for affection -getting away from affection -territorial aggression -food aggression -startled/fear
I always thought cats having their mouth open is a sign that they're disgusted by something. Cause my cat only does this if she smells something disgusting 😂🤣
It a rather relaxing sound when my 6 cockatoos start grinding their beaks after the lights go out. I am convinced that it's a filing process because those beaks are continually growing like a fingernail and need to be maintained. Occasionally if they are improperly hand-fed as a young bird their beak will not grow properly and need a trim from time to time.
Is the "gift" still alive, or dead prey? If it's dead, usually it means the cat respects you, and is giving you first choice of its kill. If it's still alive, it's trying to teach you how to hunt, i.e., your cat thinks you're a simp
My cats have done both, alive and dead gifts. One cat wanted to bring an alive snake inside the house for me. I hated to be rude, but thanks, no thanks.
Wow clearly my cat who knew who was the alpha in my family she'd wait for my mom to make dinner and bring dead birds mice whatever she caught to the kitchen and walk off like "you're welcome" she never did it to anyone else but her it was hilarious.

Idk if I did it wrong but when my cat brought his toy to me, I threw it on the other side. He immediately ran to get it and bring it back again. My first thought was "oh, my cat knows how to play fetch" but now, I think his intention is to bring me a gift but I misunderstood. Hahahah. Well, we still do that whenever he wants to play.
its a special game between you guys. i had a cat at one time that used to do the same thing. its play and interaction between you and your cat. or furkid .. as i referr to my own as
My oldest cat likes to play fetch with water-bottle caps. I throw them for him, he chases them, plays with them for a minute then he puts it in his mouth and brings it back and drops it at my feet for me to throw it for him again. My youngest kitty has learned to do the same by watching him. When she gets excited now she takes over and brings it for me to throw for her.
BT: "Why do dogs tilt their heads" Me: * Grabs Note Book * BT: "We Dont know why Dogs tilt their heads, but its confirmed cute; now Parrots and Mirrors" -_-
My kitty likes too lay right up next to me but if she is exhausted she doesn’t want to be petted or touched. She’ll bite at me to let me know she doesn’t want to be touched but she does want to be close. I leave her alone and later when she’s rested (usually early morning) she gets on top of me to be petted.
I have 4 cats, and I trained all of them, They don't knock things off, tear up any paper, don't scratch furniture, don't steal food and leave our Christmas tree alone.
GUINEA PIG FACT: They can in fact purr, but remember that they can also durr, which is the opposite. They durr when they get scared or something happens that they don't particularly like. It's important to distinguish these two!
Cats will also gently bite you to show that they love you - a "love - bite. It's a way they have to "kiss" you. It's not good to scold a cat when they gently bite you because they would think you indeed don't love them if you do. After a few times of them gently biting you, you can determine when they are giving you "love - bites" or when (or if) it's because they're agitated or aggravated. 😻😻😻
One of the cats has been pursuing my feet somewhat energetically. I would not describe this as aggression, but the cat seems at the higher level of enthusiasm some cats experience with catnip. I am pretty sure my feet do not smell like catnip, but I have developed an apprehension of walking to the sink, toilet, or coffee pot when I get up in the morning.
My cat has never actually bitten me. The most he'll do is snap at me but deliberately miss. I guess that's his way of saying "this is what's gonna happen if you don't stop"
I smack my cats on the head if they try to bite or claw too hard. If they hiss are try to be aggressive i will be aggresive right back. Im the master they are the pet.
