can a volume be adjusted from Windows via its volume control in the right lower corner, or it only works by turning a knob on the ZenDac 3 unit? Thanks EDIT - I have the answer to my question, adjusting volume using Windows controls, like the knob on your keyboard, does NOT do anything, you HAVE to turn the knob on the device! To me, it is a pass.

Yes, you should be able to do that, but generally you should get better results (less noise) by using the DAC/Amp volume control, esp. if you want to crank it up.
