I got my hip Dac 3 about a month ago and it’s fantastic. I have a ifi go blu for commute / mobile use and the hip Dac 3 for use at my office desk or at a park / coffee shop. I’ve used a dozen iems and a half dozen headphones with great degrees of success this far. The only thing I wish that the hip Dac 3 has was a more neutral X bass and an x space option like the go blu has. The xbass is +10 db to sub range where go blu is + 3db. Go blu has has x space function which elevates treble and you can activate both xbass and xspace simultaneously.
I have DT 1770 in my collection and I had no problems driving it to my preferred levels of volume. Just keep in mind that hip dac 3 is designed as a portable unit. In desktop scenario it's still running off battery.
yep it's a good dac amp unfortunately without Bluetooth is just a desktop dac amp with battery and IFI dacs have Insanely high noise floor i wonder if they managed to fix atleast that in this version but i doubt it
