Thanks for the review. This is what I'd recommend for most people over the 2x priced Zen Blue v2 I own. Most of the features dropped for the Air won't be missed. Great for bringing guest sources into your stereo quickly.

Purchased this unit for my LG OLED G3 tv to interface into my quality amp and speaks. My existing sytem did not have eARC input. Perfect match and can also play music from phone and Ipad. Sound quality is very good and just the solution for me.

Just connected to an old kenwood KR-2400 receiver with a spare 5V phone plug and it sounds amazing! This sounds better than the 1Mi B03 Pro BT 5.0 ESS SABRE DAC I've beren using. Must be a higher quality ESS Sabre DAC chip with its Hyperstream! The sound is bigger, smoother, and lively with no stutters..

I already have a Bluetooth receiver, what I'm asking is, if I use a PC sound source instead of a cellphone, what brand and type of USB jack can support the codec that the receiver needs?

Can i get the benefit of ifi zen air blue v2 if the music source is from youtube using bluetooth from android?

As far as I know you would benefit from it even if it’s RU-vid which is compressed audio (48 kbps to 256) It could also be good on other streaming services or for music that’s already on your phone. iPhone or android it wouldn’t make any difference as far I know, modern phones have pretty good DACs these days. To get maximum benefits out of it, it might be a good idea to get an external amp so you can regulate the volume straight from the amp as opposed to regulating it from your phone.

How easy/difficult is it to switch between inputs? I have music on both my iPhone and iPad and the Bluetooth receiver I currently have (a BluDento) automatically pairs with whatever I used last and makes me manually unpair the last one and re-pair the new one. It looks like it's easier on the iFi...? Thanks for the review and any information you have.

I do not have this unit in-house anymore, so I'm going by memory, but I don't believe it was difficult at all. It's all done in your device software, with nothing to do on the receiver.

DAC? I heard you say DAC. Am I incorrect?

The device has an ESS Sabre Hyperstream DAC chipset, yes.

@@av_nirvana Thanks. I had not heard that nor read that.

As a device that receives bluetooth and outputs analog, it's by definition a DAC. And it happens to use a very nice chipset, especially at this price point.
