Iga Kumihimo - Traditional Japanese Braiding Technique 

Absolutely love this gem of a person keeping this tradition alive. Makes me want to make it my mission to preserve these historic trades.

Love this art form, thank you for sharing something so precious with us. It goes so far beyond just being fashion with its rich history. It's immensely kind and gracious of you to say you hope more people will learn to work silks (whether that's on marudai or takadai), and I hope we both have long lives such that one day I might be able to meet you, and at least watch you, if not learn from you.

I would adore learning this kind of weaving. It looks do peaceful. I spin yarn and make bobbin laces. This is right up my alley. 😮😮

Looking for tutorials of making kumihimo like this but can't find anywhere, if anyone knows such video of how to make kumihimo like this (not like the friendship bracelets that pop up when u search kumihimo) do tell me 🙏🙏

Does anyone know where to buy his Takadai, I am interested in learning this craft but beginning on Marudai? I love that setup so much more then where I have been seeing them.
