(I have absolutely no medical background, I apologize for anything that comes off as misinformed or ignorant in any way. Just my point of view as a patient.) I was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy about 2 years ago. It was noticed during a dip test for a routine flight physical. Initially I was at 3.8g/gcreat. From there I got a biopsy which led to the diagnosis. I was put on a 6 month treatment of prednisone (60mg/day tapering off normally... that was fun 😒). After that I was put on Cellcept (1500mg 2x/day) and tapered off of that after about a year total. I can’t remember the duration that I was on each dosage but eventually I was down to 500mg 2x/day for the last 3-4 months of the treatment. Since coming off of that about 4 months ago my numbers seem stable (I’m in the ballpark of 400mg/gcreat and creatinine is 1.1 - 1.3 fairly consistently) with a eGFR of >60 most of the time. It’s hard to find anything on the subject that’s even remotely in laymen’s terms but with the help of google on a majority of the multi syllable words I can’t pronounce, I found this to be very informative and felt compelled to comment. Thank you for posting.
I have been diagnosed with IGA. My creatinine is 4.7 and creatinine protein ratio in urine is 3.02. My MEST is S1 and T1. What’s the best treatment for me
So, is it good if neither endo- nor extra-capillary hypercellularity is noted on my biopsy? I was diagnosed with IgAN since 2016, when I was 39 years old (female). Thank you for the video.
