Two standout moments: obviously the Osaka match. 5-2 down, match point down, turns that around against a former No.1 and four-time slam winner. Second: When Paolini had the audacity to break for 2-1, Iga responded with 10 games on the bounce! That is champion mentality, right there. Grass is going to be interesting. Last year we had a different champion for each slam and so far we are 2 for 2. The girls game is absolutely flying right now imho...
Iga can dig herself out of the grave which she proved in Osaka thriller ;) I think it was her psychologist job to make her more immune to the deepest potholes on her way. Her tears in the changing room after that match... Anybody who achieved something precious and important against all hurdles, adversity, unfavorable circumstances, could feel the same. On the top of it is clear message that Iga is not a robot but ordinary human being with all kind of emotions.

Iga, like Coco, is extremely mature for her age. Also, she is very natural and brutally honest but not stuck-up - quite opposite, I would say. Education starts at home, and her dad, a former Olympian, did a heck of a job in this department. In addition, she is surrounded by a great team, which does make things easier. Poland is lucky to have her.

Something hilarous - 14:0 bagels and 12:1 breadsticks served by Iga in RG. The one given to Iga was from Naomi in that unforgetable clash in 2nd round on this tour. And this caused the sudden resurrection of the champion. Lesson for Osaka: please do not tease the lion... ;)
Sorry Swifties, but Iga winning her fourth major is bigger than any Swift concert. How can you compare winning a major tennis title with a concert that is totally coreographed night after night?
Now I see why iga is so smart in playing points because under the white cap is a big forehead, a sign she has a big brain that's why she is a genius constructing points.

Naomi Osaka match was a classic. Iga escaped by the skin of her teeth. Resurgent Naomi will shortly be breathing down the neck of many top players. Naomi won 5 breakpoints against 3 and 114 games against 109. Naomi 8 aces and Iga none.

In current time is almost impossible increase women's payment. U are right, males are boring, moaning, hysterical, but how to provide this, so males will stay overpaid. Imagine howling all of this crying boys: we don't want longer courts, why our net is higher. Beside this bloody political correctness, humanitarian craps, no that's extremely difficult.

Congratulations to Iga, but from a neutral, I find such one-sided robotic matches disappointing. If I had paid to see that, I'd ask for my money back! Iga is untested. Playing Osaka proved that. We need some real rivals to show us how good she may be.
Funny I never see comments from people who actually paid for those matches and complain about them on the internet. Always only "If I paid for such match...". I find it very interesting.
