Brings me back to NASCAR Thunder 2004, where I first heard a bunch of great bands, including a few punks like these guys, before I got into the genre four years later.
This song is so brilliant at using general lyrics to summarize such a profound and common feeling of being the outsider or the underdog. Every person has felt this in their own unique way and yet the lyrics are universally understood.

I thank Nascar 2004 fpr introducing me to this song and punk as a young teen. I had no idea who Iggy Pop was at the time but this song helped me to discover his songs and The Stooges.
Damn. It's been a little over 20 years since NASCAR thunder 2004 came out. Still my most favorite game album of all time led by this gem of a song. Always takes me back to my 12 year old days

I'm pretty sure this song was written by cone (the bass player of sum 41) and was offered to Iggy Pop for his new album at the time, because he was collaborating with a bunch of artists at that time like rancid, and green day, and others I can't remember. I think he did songs with his original band the stooges, too. I forgot about this record and song.
