I just got an idea. If they come in slabs maybe the slab cutter that is used by soap makers will be good go cut the slabs into loaves and then the single wire cutter or multi bar cutter to get them into smaller pieces with less mess. That will depend on how hard the wax is.

I always used flakes but mannnn I love the slabs. its so easy and smooth to cut through with a knife. and sooo much easier to weigh. I use my scale and just put the tiny slabs piece by piece until I get the ounces I need. its so awesome. when I was using the flakes I had to weigh my container then subtract the container by the wax it was just to complicated. love love loveeeee slabs won't go back to flakes ever ever lol

Have you reviewed C3 wax yet? That is my favorite. I struggle with the IGI 6006, and mainly because of the sink holes, as it does take time to go over 40 or 50 candles with a heat gun. I have found the the cold and hot throw with the C3 is phenomenal. Candle Science no longer carries it, but I get it through either Flaming Candle, or Fillmore Candle supply.

cant make it work. Sink holes and uneven burn. Maybe the wick is not good but this was what it was recommended eco stabilo 12 for a 6oz jar. Maybe my silicone gun doesnt make it stick well? I dont know what my wick is not on the center after it burns 1-2 hours it is completely in a wrong place.

I have been using this wax for some time and it is a royal pain to work with but makes the best candles. I was surprised that you poured at such a low temp. and not sure if you heated the jars. I always have a lot of trouble with air pockets within the candle that appear through the glass. It's less if I heat the jars and pour at a higher temp. but I always end up taking the heat gun to them after a few days. I'm curious if yours develop air bubbles or "water marks" after a few days.

How would you compare the ht of 6006 compared to 4627? I love 4627, but it's such a mess to work with.
@StandleyHandcrafted
@StandleyHandcrafted 5 лет назад
4627 is definitely stronger but 6006 comes close and once you factor out the mess it's an easy choice. :D

I just received this Friday. I made candles with Black ice F.O. Sink hole? Yes! Do I smell the fragrance? 👎 It could be something I'm doing wrong. I Don't Know

Hello, I am using ParaSoy and for some reason recently the wax has been coming away from the jar. Didn't happen prior. What could I possibly be doing wrong? Thanks :)
@StandleyHandcrafted
@StandleyHandcrafted 4 года назад
rebecca sampson Thisnis very normal and something that almost all waxes follows. The wax shrinks as it cools and pulls from the sides as it shrinks.

@@StandleyHandcrafted thank you for the reply. I do have another question though. I used soy wax for the first time and when I did the first burn I let it burn for 2 hours to melt the whole top, then after setting again it curdled(looked like the top of cauliflower). Why is that? I used 1.8oz FO, i made 6 8oz jars and used dye chips. Thanks

I have heard people sending them in cool packs but those only work so well. I just ship them and hope for the best.
