Because the campfire 🔥 orange flame can create black soot it is not safe for cooking where the food comes in direct contact with the food itself in a grill like fashion. Cooking when using a pot, pan, griddle or anything where the food is not in direct contact is ok 👍

Oh, that’s no good! I had a regulator issue once myself. I reached out to Ignik and they took care of it ASAP!! Great customer service and I had a new hose within a few days! They are a small company and they really care about their customers and their products.

Yes it is max output. Unfortunately the difference in the low medium and high output is minimal with the Deluxe regulator. If you own the original black Firecan I have found that using the original red knob 5 psi regulator hose with the Deluxe gives a much larger flame (because of that 1.2 gas jet they added to the Deluxe). Plus the 5 psi regulator gives you a huge range of control when cooking. It’s like the perfect pairing, the original red knob 5psi regulator with the deluxe firecan.

@@WhyWeLikeIt Thank you! I’ve just been researching and trying to decide between the Ignik Fire Can (Deluxe) and the Lavabox. I like the aesthetics and features of the Ignik except the output looks low. ​@@justinfchan Yea, thats a great video by the Grumpy Gobbler! When he did his "update" to the video its because he and I had talked about the mod and how easy it is to do, we had discussed it in the comments from my other RU-vid account. The original firecan can be modded my making the gas jet bigger (he drilled his jet bigger, I bought a gas jet orifice kit on Amazon to experiment with different sizes, I find that the ideal size is 1.2 or 1.5 If you get to modding...) I will say with bigger flame can come with some metal warping but it does not bother me as long as the top closes. I also cook on my original firecan alot with a skillet or a frying pan. I just don't recommend cooking directly over the orange flame with an open grill grate (it will be messy and the soot from the orange flame is not good for ya to eat). If you think you are using it more for a firepit and want to mod to a bigger flame then the original black colored firecan is great! Plus you can put lava rocks in there too so you can hold the heat. Hi, thank you for the review. Very helpful. Can I buy the original regulator separately since I don’t own a black one? Also for the deluxe, can I use lava stone as well? Thank you again.
