Most of what I've read online has lead me to believe that longer staffs are better when practicing contact moves. Why do you both use shorter staffs? (about shoulder height) I am second guessing the short length of a fire staff I just made. It is shoulder height as well. Do you personally prefer this length? If so, what are the benefits? The staffs used in this video are not particullary short but I see what your mean. Long staffs are easier for contact but then spinning can be more difficult, especially the tricks these guys do with them so it's good to find a middle ground where you can do both contact and freestyle spinning tricks without being bothered by a to long staff.
