I saw on Instagram that Castaneda thought he won the fight, he said the fight was 'at least a draw' and that the judges should have 'let it go another round'. Obviously I'm a big fan of his and I respect the fighting heart he showed, but this is arrogant and absolutely delusional. Firstly, you were complety exhausted and wouldn't of been able to do another round. This is partly due to your strategy as you attempted to knock out your opponent for 9mins straight, which is like trying to sprint the entire distance. The next issue is the focus of your strength and conditioning as you focused too much on strength/ power and too little on lactic acid threshold/ interval type training. To push your ego aside and accept defeat gives you the chance to look at the holes in your strategy. Think back to Conor McGregor when he took a loss to Diaz, he said it was down to poor energy management, he took notice of the issue and resolved it. Karate Combat should give you another show as you've had two really entertaining fights, but you need to work on these things and maybe add some boxing to your training as none of these competitors seem to make use of defensive head movements. Anyway good luck in your next fight 🥋

@@theiberianbull9959 Yes it is easy for me to sit here in comfort and write my opinion, but in the same respect it's easier for me to be objective. You completely destroyed your first opponent with a well timed sweep and some great follow up striking. This fighter was tougher and managed to land more significant strikes early on, which caused you to have an adrenaline dump of death and completely drained your cardio. All that muscle you have built during your twenties needs a gas tank and I think you looked completely exhausted. You need to do plenty of rounds sparring with kick boxers and boxers to get a better sense of energy management, when to defend and not just attack relentlessly. If you throw every strike with next to full force, like karate is designed for, then after 9mins nobody in this world has enough cardio to last. Also if you fought against a counter fighter you would be extremely vulnerable using these aggressive tactics. I'm not insulting you, well maybe a bit to call you arrogant lol, but if you look at what I've actually said it's good advice.

Sean Barker Gotta say I agree with your assessment. More gas in the tank would have paid off for the Spaniard

...the rule set still bothers the crap out of me. nothing about this rule set particularly says karate no clinching? karate's oldest origins go back to okinawan tegumi. clincing is part of karate. just watch just about any iain abernathy video, or swing by the karate culture channel if you don't believe me. no knees? tons of kata have knees, knees are part of karate(sanseiru, seisan, kururnfa) no elbows? almost every kata can be interpreted as having elbows. no close hooks? several kata include close hooks (seisan, and sanseiru, seipai and even saifa can be interpreted as having close hooks) for goju ryu, but i can't think of a kata that includes a long/wide hook (but i'm only familiar with goju kata)

Totally agree. I wish they'd have rules more similar to Muay Thai but with karate fighters exclusively. As good as this is, it still shows a very limited view of karate.

East european people don't joke around, they take fighting seriously. West europeans are soft, less committed . Result of a more comfortable way of life, less sacrifice, less "hunger", abandon the hunt faster. first round not finished and the spaniard is almost completely spent. The serbian totally failed to profit from it tho and let himself go tired chasing after for too long

This fight should have been stopped so many times. Castaneda got hurt early, most likely a concussion, but he certainly wasn't home for most of it. 13:30 is the most flagrant example of poor officiating, poor commentating, poor safety, and poor sportsmanship I have ever seen. He couldn't even bring his hands up to defend himself. The Ibrahim fight was stopped after three seconds of turtling. Castaneda was obviously hurt. You see the effects all throughout the match. There was one spot especially that clued me in. He goes from normal breathing to sudden labored breathing, almost falls over, but keeps going. It reminded me of a story about a boxing match where the same thing happened and the guy died a few days later. Around 8:30 it is so bad even the commentators can't gloss over it. Personally I feel what was allowed to happen in this fight was criminal. That ref should never be allowed to ref again. The medical staff on site should never be allowed to be medical staff at a fight again. Karate Combat should be severely fined for letting that happen,enough so they know not to allow that kind of stupid shit again.

It was kickboxing and the guys name was Dennis Munson Jr. The video is called Death in the Ring: Experts describe what went wrong in fatal kickboxing fight at Eagles Club. The channel is Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Watch that video, then watch this fight again. This type of utter failure by so many people is disgusting. The lack of humanity and basic respect for both competitors makes me absolutely sick to my stomach and feel ashamed that I even watched this event.

@@Suchega_Uber In Dennis Munson Jr's match he suffered very serious damage and watching the video you could tell he is losing it. Very sad for both fighters and everyone involved. Huge mistake by management. But Karate Combat, I believe, carefully monitors fighters. Everything is streamed in HD. You can see every sweat or blood tear. In addition, fight commentator is Bas Rutten who surely knows the difference between an exhausted fighter and a brain injured fighter. These man are there to put their skills on test in full contact match. Igor's corner or Igor himself could call it. He deserves deep respect for not quitting. Milos showed very good sportsmanship in dominance. Both fighters have deep karate roots and went there for a win. Both showed amazing determination and heart. And low cardio maybe :) Peace!
@Suchega_Uber
@Suchega_Uber 5 лет назад
@@koan7144 Absolutely not. Nobody involved in this fight deserves respect. Castaneda should have had people in his corner looking out for his well being, even if he himself didn't. This wasn't a gutsy showing and fuck you for trying to downplay just how vile the actions of everyone involved were. It is a travesty that will be swept under the rug, but it shows that everyone involved in karate combat doesn't care about their fighters well being. Mark my words, if they don't change their ways, some foolhardy person is going to get killed.

@@Suchega_Uber I am not trying to excuse anything or anyone I am just giving you another opinion. Igor even wrote on his Instagram that he believes that he won and he is sorry there was no extra round. However, you lost my attention after "fuck you" since I have no interests in arguing with anyone's ego.

I think it’s more that he’s just exhausted from going all out. He has fought the same way in all of his fights. He wants a KO but when he can’t get it early he burns out physically but keeps fighting cos he’s badass.
