Beautifully executed, very authentic. Only a small but important flaw.... Chinese do not wear white on their heads except when they are mourning. One exception is the wedding veil... but it must be a light, lacy, (happy) material. Otherwise it is a no-no. Should use the traditional red ... though other colours are sometimes used... but not white ...
Chee Hooi Lim in western province like Northern Shaanxi the peasants wear white towels when they’re doing farm work. The dance features farmers life, so I think the costume are very reasonable.
@@LunahLiu Thank you for pointing that out. I am not sure if that was the intention though, or if this dance originated in Shaanxi or depicting farm work. For superstitious people, even if they accept white towels for farm work, they may not accept other white headdresses. In any case, pants are often black, unless it is worn under a robe. A totally white ensemble is not often seen, unless they are undergarments. Maybe it.is my personal bias, as we would be berated by elders if we wear white on our heads, as it is a sign of disrespect, unless it is a wedding veil. I am not trying to rubbish their good efforts but just sharing cultural sensitivities. Similarly, Chinese would never wear a green hat.
wow,This is a dance of historical significance. The red ribbons dance is an original artistic stage dance based on the Chinese folk Yangge dance during Moiseyev's visit to China in 1954. Thanks to the Russians for teaching and helping Chinese in modern choreography
Профи! Вот бы увидеть в вашем исполнении китайский танец the nation of greatness and courtesy. Пока не встречал достаточно синхронного исполнения, без которого теряется его грациозность. Уверен, вам под силу.
I just happened to know that the choreographer for this Chinese-ShanBei-style ribbon dance is Mr. Moiseyev himself made in the 1950s, just how amazing and unbelievable! The dancing movement is a little bit like 'YangGe‘(秧歌), one kind of Chinese folk dances, but more elegant. I really enjoy it, thank you for this perfect performance.
If Americans did this the news would be filled with "cultural appropriation" bs but this looks more like honoring cultures they always do such a good job.
