Nice original tractor. We have a 1456 and love it! That old 407 purrs like a kitten untill we hook the 7 shank soil controller behind her then she dreams like a demon with that straight pipe. I have been told we can be heard a mile and a half away. Probably why my ears ring most of the time. LOL She is semi retired now, waiting for me to retire so I can give we a little love and a restoration. I know one thing she will never leave this family because my son's learned how to drive 'er and we have a Grandson who will as well.
Jeff, im a big 1456 fan. Had up to 10 at one time but down to 7 right now. 1256 vs 1456 is night and day. Ive had 5 1256s but only have kept 2 of them. Hard for me to fall in love with a 1256. To me it's almost a pass over tractor. If I'm doing light work Ill use an 856, heavy work ill use a 1456. However a good clean 1256 is too hard to pass up and still a great tractor.
@@IHOutlaw I hate to say it but the 1456 is a hell of a lot better/ more trouble free than that 1086 we bought to replace it. We've moved on from the 1086 to a couple of 3388s and love them.
Ih Outlaw, what all do you do to these tractors when you get them? Just paint, or do you do more? And what specialty tools does it take to restore one of these tractors? Great videos.
@@galeogle I get them all mechanicly sound and everything working. I dont repaint tractors or have them repainted. I like to clean them up but preserve the patina. Not many special tools but good heavy duty split stands is a must.
What a horse!! Man I loved that tractor. 806, 1206, 1256, 1456…. Heckuva run with those irons, International had! Get up in the saddle and pull that throttle, blow some black smoke! Always love that old AM Radio up in the cab of our 12’s listening to Lyle Bremzer give the play by play to Cornhuskers Football, disking all afternoon, sack lunch behind the seat… thermos full of coffee, just took me down memory lane! Lol.
