Dad had a 2 row header on his 303. He called it Blue Bunny as in the ice cream. itwas just plain good. He said there was one year where winter snow set in early. He was able to keep going with the Blue Bunny as it could ride on top of the ground with out sinking into deep into the frost. The neighbors had much larger combines and got stuck. Fun to see these videos. I was probably 4 or 5 when Blue Bunny gave up the ghost. I recall he had valve problems on the engine toward the end in the early 80's.
Still gotta do an in-depth vid on this and y'alls other combines some day lol. My family always ran Gleaners, so they have a soft spot in my heart, but I love the old IH combines
We had a 303 when I was a kid. I can't imagine it pulling a 4 row corn head hauling ass like that. Ours had variable speed, not a hydrostat. Gasoline engine. Very small machine. Perhaps there were different versions of it?
@@classicihfarming7691that had me confused because I seen a reverse on the side and the column. Makes sense. I can’t believe how good the interior looks on a machine that old.
@classicihfarming7691 irrigate land and what kind of soil? We have all non irrigated and most of it is red clay and about 70 acres of sandy dirt and that by far yields the worst for us
@aaronp5089 no irrigation, just good dirt. Nothing out of the ordinary for us to have 180-190 corn, this feild was making 200, most the bigger farmers around us are making about 225+. But by all means come next harvest and watch in person.
