As someone who lives in Chicago it’s crazy how they make this city sound like a war zone. It’s beautiful and culturally diverse. It has a rich history and some of the best architecture in America in my opinion. Lake Michigan beaches look and feel like ocean beaches. It’s surprisingly green in residential areas of the city. I could go on and on about this place.

Putting in my queer-Christian 2¢: Jesus wholeheartedly supported women. However, the Bible we read is obviously highly edited, and highly edited _by men,_ and the gospel accounts of Jesus were written by his *_male disciples_* - so it’s necessary to keep that in mind as well. There are accounts of Mary Magdalene among the disciples listening to Jesus teach. He encouraged women to get divorced especially if there was cheating or abuse. There’s the story of him defending the woman who poured perfume on him (which was a very kind gesture that the male disciples reacted poorly to). Him speaking to the woman at the well who was a prostitute. And so on.
