I am from IIT Guwahati, part of the protesters, literally the administrations are not cooperative . Getting threats for termination even if we are not found guilty , the professors not taking the mental health of a person seriously . Even death of a student's mother was not considered a reason for not failing him due to attendance .The student , Bimlesh Kumar, who suicided was also facing similar issues , he was not mentally well, he was forced to attend the classes .

Guys plz try to understand..these are planning from administration and management to create suicidal invironment for the particular student who they want to target...they target that student by 100 of different 2 method to forcebhim or her to suicide like playing with rules and regulation,targetting by using puppet teachers,puppets students mentally torturing,giving task which is impossible to complete etc...its like 100 of PPL targetting that student to force him for suicide

PG के EXAM में सबसे ज्यादा MIND DEPRESSED होता है खासकर MATH PHYSICS और CHEMISTRY जैसे SUBJECT के छात्र BUT लोग केवल ENGINEERING को ही दिखाता है मैंने btech भी किया है और अब math से msc कर रहा हूँ सबसे हार्ड syllabus msc mathematics का है but interest आता है mind से खेलने में अब 😮 वैसे भाई को मेरी तरफ से संवेदना भगवान से प्रार्थना है कि बच्चे को स्वर्ग के साथ उसकी आत्मा को शान्ति प्रदान करें 😢

Yeh vahi iit hai jisne 2016 me sabse tough jee advanced ka paper set kiya tha...toughest paper of Jee advanced in history... IIT ke professor bahut load daalte hain jiske chalte performance girne lagti hai semester me backlog aata hai, fir rules hai more backlog hone par rejection from IIT..yehi pressure or stress depression me bad jaata hai..or Candidate suicide karta hai..

i totally disagree with the response of professor verma he is just trying to cover the fact that 75% criteria of the attendance also some of the professors have lots of ego that for some reason student could not attend their class they target that student and put lots of pressure on them either its while submitting their assignment and pbl also sometimes they intentionally fail them in their subject just because of their ego but now a days student apart from study is involved in lots of activities weather its fests councils or sports which most of the time clashes with their class time, at last when such incidence occur they just put all the blames on the student for not being attentive and all that. They should also understand that now a days int college apart from study their are lots of thing and also at this age the child is passionate to explore in different fields and don't consider the studies to be the only way to be successful.

Prof Verma is not talking about problems of students he is saving professors and administrators of IIT. Since 2005 to 2024 about 69 students committed suicide in IIT G and during this year 4 students.

Prof Verma is partially correct. Counselling system at IIT Guwahati is not proper. One question for you Sir, what is the responsibility of Professors if 20 % students performance is below level ? It should be reviewed by a third party if it happened regularly. Sir, I was a student of a very ordinary engineering college, but my teachers were so good ,they teach me in such a way that I loved my subject. But in case of IITG it is not. Students used to read from You tube. Why a student is not allowed for suppli exam if his suppli falls due to his attendance ? This student commits suicide (which I cannot support), due to this, as because he failed to appear for internship due to his suppli. Kindly support the students they are the creamy layer of our society. Yes Sir, you rightly pointed out that IIT is not only the solution in life.

Mai jee 25 ki tyari kar rha hu lekin parental pressure bahut jyada kabhi kabhi ho jata hai aur padhai ka pressure to hota hi hai lekin phir bhi laga rahta hu padhne me aur khud ko positive rakhne ki koshish karta hu. But haa suicide is not the any option. Mai agar nahi bhi qualify bhi nahi ho paya to koi baat nahi. Mai apni mehnat karunga 😊

Reservation na sirf admission mein hona chahiye, balki Degree milne mein bhi hona chahiye, taaki students bakaiti karte hue bina padhai samjhe hue bhi B. Tech. degree le sakein. Kyonki samajik Nyay isi ko kehrein hain. 🙏🙏

Agar sarkar reservation de rhi hai admission mein, tow unke liye course bhi tow halkahona chahiye taaki wo log Aiyaashi karte hue, Jhaanj-Nasha karte hue, Pub-G khelte hue, scholarship ka paisa udate hue bhi degree bade aaram se pass kar jaayein. Sarkar ko ispe sochna chahiye, Kyonki aaj Baapu hotein tow wo iske liye bhi Hunger Strike kar rhe hote. 🥴🥴
