*Engineering is not a waste of time for someone passionate but maximum indians put their child in the dumb coaching system straight from class 6th. Ok here's my story - I passed 10th grade with 91.40% . It was a pretty amazing result considering that year's cut off and I could easily get admission in top colleges in my city . I wanted to opt for commerce but everyone indirectly brainwashed me into taking science which I somehow ended up taking . Fast Forward to 5 months , I started to hate science and was just not able to study or lost interest in everything. Soon I fell into depression and anxiety . I started having panic attacks and I told no one about this , not even my parents because I felt that they had already done a lot for me , spent so much on my studies etc ....The frustration and everything inside me just kept on increasing until I had a major panic attack and I fell unconscious but somehow no one came to know about it. I still remember I would cry and curse myself each night. My grades started to drop as I couldn't mentally study a word . One day I was done with everything and I decided to tell everything to my parents . I spoke atleast 100 times in front of the mirror as what I wanted to speak and what not . I mustered courage and walked upto them to tell them but just couldn't . So then I called my bff and told her everything cried my heart out on her shoulder and she gave me the right direction . I went home that day and told my parents everything . Luckily, my parents are very supportive and have always been so :) They listened to me , paid attention to my worries and took me to a therapist . She diagnosed me with major depressive disorder and started my weekly therapy . Throughout my therapy my parents and entire family kept telling me that the are always with me , even in the toughest of times. Soon I started to heal and I could feel it . I later repeated 11th grade in commerce and I haven't been happier . Guys the only reason I am commenting is that please choose your stream, your career on your own because later on no one is going to get you out of that situation . I hope you find success and happiness each day.
Same situation happening with me, I have taken biology, But I dont want to do it, I want to take maths. I dont wanna be a doctor or something. Btw, Have you taken com with maths or without, Also what are your goals?

After my experience I learnt that I shouldn't decide everything beforehand and expect everything to go that way .Life is going to play its games so I am just living in present because the more I plan and prepare for the future,the more I feel dejected and worried

Look i think it is not your fault. I think the level of jump from class 10th to 11th is quite huge. This is the major drawback of Indian education system. Even I being a science student messed up my class 11th and then went into depression coz of coaching fees my parents spent. So it happens with everyone and u have to be mentally string to come out of this. Btw be strong dude ✌️

Even the school teachers also focus just on completing the syllabus , instead of real explanation of concepts .Aur waise bhi Har kisi ke naseeb mei Jeetu Bhaiya nahi hote 😞😢. jis deen har teacher concept ko clearly explain karna shuru kar dega rather than yeh sochne ke liye ki syllabus purra karvana tabhi engineers employable banenge same is in any other field.

It is the worst reality of kota that till now about approx. 200 students died due to hanging themselves So, RIP for them and i feeling very sad to tell that 3 out 5 students are living with depression, anxiety, stress I request everyone that ki har baccha khush hai iska matlab ye nhi ki vo khush hai apni zindagi se 🙏🙏

I am telling that's education is not only cramming phy formulas, mapping Indian states, mohenjedaro amd harappa, acid base reactions! There are a lot of issues out there which which is not introduced ( i need to edit bcoz of net issue)

There is one more problem. During my b.tech, I had applied for MIT, and one known faculty was also supporting me... but he wanted to come up with a duly signed letter regarding attendance from my HOD, and my HOD just shut me on face.....that you have to attend classes... Next year, new HOD, I tried to invent something new.... The HOD said, "That is impossible. Where is my Homework"... I was so devastated that I never tried todo any research work again.... In my masters, in a new college, I got an opportunity to do some research..... These colleges are planned to produce machines.... better gain some practical experience rather than a degree... in today's world...degree is just the eligibility criteria, nothing more than that...

@@Meanclashers bro its a request to you to follow your dreams man! Please dont take engineering! By saying this i didn't meant to say that its an bad field! But for Entrepreneurship go for commerce! After that choose an high income skill and master in it! Learn from an expert!
I also lived in kota in 2021 for 4 to 5 months and it taught me many things through I didn't made IIT ,initially I was very sad but when I saw the outer world there are many things, opportunities, people are happy even they're not an iitian . Because it's not much important that you achieved the goal bt what you learnd during this journey will help you in entire life. So if you're preparing then give your full potential , accept the result and move on ahed in ur life .... there're so many things waiting ✌️

One of my teachers said this: "Ye market me utarne ke wqt aapke pass ya to "brand" hona chiye ya to "knowledge" hona chiye... kyuki aese IITian ka koi fayda nahi jo apne study mei hi accha nai hai" this made me realize ki ye IIT vagaira bhi sab business hi hai... one of the reasons I chose a nearby Tier-2 college... it doesn't pressurize you unlike the other top-tier institutions we have here.

Very useful video. My cousin needs this. People made him depressed when he took commerce. Students should choose stream on the basis on their ability not peer pressure. I took humanities because I knew I can do better in this field.

My parents are very understanding they've never forced me to choose any career option and they are cool even if I get a normal government Engineering College. I am aware of the struggles outside and want to study in my hometown.
Same! I sometimes get insecure tho when I hear peeps around me saying "I don't wanna study in this small town" I'm like "...why?" Even most of my relatives questioned me that why I chose a nearby college. The thing is... getting out of your comfort zone... this does not work for everyone. And this def doesn't work for me since at the moment I really don't see any "need" to leave my hometown & study in other town. I'm aware I would have to do up-down from my town to another. Not saying I haven't prepared myself for that but I just thought that if I have the option to choose to study from my hometown, then why not? I was a shut-in kid anyways having some really shitty friends so I need to heal myself from all that trauma.
Everything is fine but teachers, ahhhh, actually they need to understand one student can have a lots of doubts and another might have no doubts but according to them only one with no doubts is intelligent one 🧠. I am not making it but I literally had this chemistry teacher who said this to one of my friends, "tum bhut doubtful ladki ho" and meri puri 11th unki wajah se barbaad ho gai... I ended up believing that there is probably no good teacher of chemistry in this world, but thanks to online teaching I got some of the best teachers on RU-vid and online platforms...🙏🏻
My salary is 6.7cr per annum. But still i feel myself as a poor i have nothing ... Growed up in Bihar in a poor family cracked IIT with my parent support and they both left me with my brother too in 2018 with a car accident.. Main problem of today's society is that students are always told maths and science are important but they will never tell the other options available because they don't know many people don't know there are premier institutes for design/ travel drama which are as good as iit in their genre but in India if you think of pursuing anything other than science basically bachha hath se nikal gaya hai😶
while we wait for the curriculum to be improved, what if students make sure that they not only following the curriculum but also focus on learning practical skils and remain up to date with technology disregarding of whats in syllabus.... that way you will be exposed to a greater diversity and be confident with yourself whatever your grades might be...

This is so truee!!! I still remeber my father used to take programming classes for some people who passed out of college and believe me what in most of the students could not even write simple programs. They said that they were barely ever got a chance to workout programs on a pc instead they were just given theory classes just as school kids are given. I'm like how do you learn programming without a pc.

It is not just India ,this system exists in Pakistan as well .iam a teacher and I feel guilt of teaching an outdated curriculum to the minds which deserve innovation and creativity. our curriculum is focused on exam taking and covering syllabus .There are alot of loopholes in our system which put stress on students .we need to find a solution before it gets too late .

It's really very true that many of us got no idea why are we doing smthng and do we really wish to achieve that ... But I feel majority of the students till class 12 got no idea about their interest... And makes us opt for engineering...But I also feel that if someone gives their 💯 in prep then then it teaches us really deep lessons of Life...! I still remember before giving my JEE advance exam.. I was proud of myself for fighting such a tough battle..!
i now at the end of my 12 th grade feel the same ... i have been always told that do whatever you want but engineering is the best , there always has been an unsaid pressure on me cause i used to score good marks in school .. now im confused and idk what i really want to do i feel so lost and the sad part is i cant talk to my parents or my sister about it cause to them im super intelligent and cannot do something lower than engineering ... i just dont want to regret that i knew i was not made for engineering but still in confusion i did it with half heart.
