Thank you so much for this wonderful presentation on Desmond Doss. He lived the gospel. This is a quote taken from his biography during the Battle of Guam. “Haven’t you got enough to do, taking care of our own men?” Glen asked. Why try to resurrect the natives?” Because it’s not up to me to judge whether one of God’s children should live or die,” Desmond said. “That is a decision for the Lord to make, not me. I believe that I should do everything in my power to help all men hold on to life.” “Suppose they aren’t fit to live?” Well, the way I look at it,” Desmond said, “is that anybody who isn’t fit to live surely isn’t fit to die! What worse fate could possibly happen to any mortal than to die when he doesn’t deserve to live? That would seal his doom forever. NO matter how evil a person may be he deserves to live, for he may discover the teachings of Jesus and be saved!”

I am in awe when the troops wait at the foot of the cliff form Private Doss to pray before the clamber up to battle. What a turnaround in his comrades' attitude since basic training. Such faith, integrity, humility ...what a role model!
Desmond is my Inspiration in Life to Always put others first with Compassion 1st Daily, Always in the name of the father, the Lord, GOD. RIP Desmond Doss your Life always matters to others even after you are gone, Amen.

It's sad how everyone talks about Desmond's faith but not how God is faithful to him. Desmond is a living testimony that God exists. The takeaway from his story should not be his bravery but God's power.
Prayer is always my first choice in life, like Desmond! When I need uplifted and reminded I am never alone, I watch Hacksaw Ridge and remember his faith and courage that could only come from GOD! BLESSINGS
In my opinion Desmond Doss was an amazing man. He helped a lot of people on battleground without use weapons. Wow! True hero! Mel Gibson directed wonderful movie about him. I didn't see better movie than Hacksaw Ridge. I really recommend to see this video. Desmond Doss - real role model.
Desmond Doss was equally amazing off the battlefield. He was a humble man, kind, and cared deeply for anyone in trouble -- his mission of saving lives never ended when he left the military.
I am from England in the UK, I would like to say that I wish I could have met Desmond Doss to shake him by the hand and to say thank you to him for all that he sacrificed in saving so many many lives of his fellow humans. I am totally awed at this rare special man of conscience , he was something so very special to humanity. God bless Desmond and may he always be remembered for the true hero that he certainly was. Desmond Doss was a real American hero it makes me emotional when I think of what he did for the people of his country. A true man, one that sticks to his beliefs. Every man can learn from this brave man.
I read the book "The Unlikeliest Hero" by Booton Herndon, and he tells of Desmond Doss's treatment, while in training. His fellow soldiers attitude changed dramatically when they saw Desmond in "action" tending to their various wounds, first while in training, then while in battle. It is inspiring.
I just hear about this so heroism man .God give us the strength and courage to be like you're servant Desmond and be ready to combat and save life's and soul's for you're kingdom.

He is the one Medal of Honor recipient that did not deserve it. He deserved SO much more. The more I here his story, the more it makes me want to be a better person like he was. he is a true inspiration for any and all of us .

The difference between myself and Desmond Doss, I was a medic and I would eliminate all threats to the wounded with any means necessary. But kudos to everyone who served.
The fact that he did get to serve, yes they tried to convince him not to serve. Ultimately the USA military saw the right side of this and allowed him to serve in the capacity he was best suited for. What an inspirational story of this man. If your looking for a hero this is one. If your looking for a man that lives his beliefs, he is one. What a story and what a real man. This christian man is so smart, and wise, man, doss would have never been able to do that if he was not christian, did not have so much faith in God, he did, and saves 75 men, and himself.

medic's are beyond brave. check out Clarence "Billy" Mosier a medic in Korean war and his story is another example. he was awarded to navy cross and was nominated for the medal of honor and has buildings named after him. even MASH was his unit and camp mosier was the model for the movie/tv but just trying to say how much this young man left such a great impression of himself. just a couple years ago another building named after him and was a big event..not bad for a 19 year old country boy who died too soon but willingly to help his friends...he was my first cousin i never met only by people who never forgot him...check him out...

Truman for telling Desmond that being with him was better than being president...he was so very proud of him....a soldier's soldier.....like Daniel in the lion's den where he was expected to be torn apart and killed....he emerged the next day unscathed covered in God's grace and protection. God does protect his children and his eye was on this man he was honoring with His protection. Desmond knew who was really protecting him, and that he had nothing to fear. Psalm 91.
Desmond Doss was born and raised in my home town, Lynchburg Va. We are very proud of him here, and have many memorials to his name on streets, signs, parks, and more. Mel Gibson's movie, "Hacksaw Ridge", does a wonderful job of portraying Desmond's life and sacrifices in war, and his total dedication to our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless his family.
Desmond Doss is a Medic in the U.S. Army he brought alot of men that are alive, He use the rope and tied both leg's, and once the war is done, he is awarded a Medal of Honor.

I'm muslim and I'm just wondering what the bible says that what's going it happen when Jesus comes back? In Islam, when Jesus comes back (in Islam he is still alive but Allah has taken him to heaven) there will be an angle that blows a horn that will call every single persons soul together and then Jesus will ask everyone of all the good and bad things they have done and send them to heaven or hell.
