Nobuddy has the right length of sleeves, this would mean you would have to buy a new gi every 3 times of washing.

maybe at the local level. but you ever wonder why top level athletes Gi's are so crisp white and new looking blue at every tournament?

I really hope that they are only strict on this for the highest levels of competition.

whats worse is that some local level competitions enforce these rules too hard because "the IJF said so" and we'll all have to buy new gis every competition because gis shrink

these gi rules are bunk! just another obstacles to discourage people from doing judo. Is the IJF intentionally trying to ruin their sport? it feels like the IJF keeps pushing the sport further to the fringe by putting in increasingly more convoluted rules so that your sport is not just unwatchable but also impractical and no fun to practice.
