Thanks I just got one of these today and haven't had a chance to plug it in to anything. I have an older iRig but it's been years since I used it. This one has three programs I'll use - I don't stream so the loopback won't do me any good. That's OK though, since I don't need it to get complex! Thanks for the video. Your English comes through just fine with your accent :) Closed captions not so much...
Thank you for the video, I obviously subscribed! I'm considering buying the iRig HD X but I'm still confused. Hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions. Does the loopback also work on the iPad? What if I wanted to record not only the guitar but also a mic on iPad?
Thank you! Actually never tried on iPad, but it is intended to work for iPad primarly and then on PC/Mac.. So should work. Don't think is possible to use also a microphone together cause you then need to plug the mic but already have the audio interface into the usb-c/lightning plug
Thanks for doing things in real time, more clear this way, bread vid. But I have a question. I’ve seen other videos that show streaming/recording using iPad camera app, why not show that. More importantly, can/how to use streaming with a backing track.
Thanks. To use backing track in streaming you can place into your DAW 2 tracks, one the backing and the second one the guitar, the overall output will be the 1/2 out of the iRig which will have all the audio coming to the streaming platform. Fabio
Around 7:40 you keep using the term "DI" to differentiate between the processed sound and the unprocessed sound. The interface you are referring to is unbalanced audio out suitable for plugging into an amplifier or is suitable for a DI box to plug into the stage mixer. A question I have not heard answered yet is where is the guitar sound processed? Is all the processing done on the Macbook, iPHone or iPad or is a software module downloaded to the iRIG HD X where it is processed there (like Universal Audio Solo). This would make a huge difference to latency. Thank you.
The processed sound is on PC/mac cause is your plugin you decide to use and you can send the sound through the jack output or use it to send only DI, up to you. Fabio
Great video. How should I connect it to a PC? Do I need the PC to have a USB C input? Or should I get another cable that is USB C to USB to connect it to the PC? Thank you
I do not have a Mac, Nor i-pad. But have very good Windows system. Can I use irig HD X? Secondly, if I have a DAW and a good audio interface like Focusrite 2i2 that serves the purpose of a live broadcast, how is the irig HDX different than this? What's the point of investing in it then?
Beginner here. I am still unsure about the amp output. How to play the processed sound on the real amp? It seems really muddy. Do you have to set the amp setting to a neutral clean setting? I have an Katana MK II 50.
If you use processed sound to a real amp like Katana, you should bypass the cabinet in the processed signal, or I think in the Katana you can manage the response of the speaker (I’m guessing) cause in that case you have in serial 2 speakers. So better to go with processed signal to an FRFR cabinet
