Can it be completely controlled via MIDI CC#? Is the "motion recording" of the knobs tied to the sequencer or are they untethered. This could be a nice companion to my AS-1. I don't own any IK Multimedia hardware stuff but I'm glad they are doing this line. It all sounds good to me.
I have the uno pro and it’s not really a massive step up from that. If you don’t need all the control encoders just buy the pro and for the difference in price you could also buy uno drum and uno synth 1!!! To get the best out of the uno range you will need too use the uno vst but that’s free once you register…also currently u will get some bundled software. And credit too🎉
I think the new "X" version has an extra envelope and a few different effects. I agree that someone with the previous "non-X" Pro would have a difficult time justifying the purchase. However, there are many(?) people who did not like the old matrix interface. They will prefer the new X interface which comes much closer to knob-per-function.
The og unosynth stated in the manual not to power the unit w a cable unless it was the one that came w the unit. I was running an extension cord from the end of that tiny cable all the way to the power strip. Super annoying.
Certainly less gopping than the Uno Synth Pro.. I have to play mine wearing a blindfold as glimpsing the panel face on is more perilous than a staring match with Medusa. Bit of a shame they didn't follow The True Way™ for a module and recess the ports and make it 19" rack compatible via some ears. This new design makes me think more towards the Hypersynth Xenophone than a cheap MIDI controller, which is good.
Who do I watch, Bobeats, Wine and Synths, naaah gotta be Anderson’s Freaky so many reviews at the same time 😂😂😂 And talking of freaky, IK UNO Freak? Looks and sounds amazing.
The media blitz for this is certainly on. IF you can lay your hands on an EXT Box (good luck) I cannot imagine getting this over a thus upgraded SE-02. IMHO a tough sale when only $100 more gets you a MiniFreak, Hydrasynth Explorer, or Deepmind 6. (Same price if willing to go used) I honestly don't get it...
If it’s like the basic uno synth then yes. (though the original had a trs midi port that was 2.5mm rather than 3mm. So going out of its way to be as non standard as possible!
Yo yo oh ho Jack my mannnnnn, I got myself a Jupiter X, kept it a week and returned it….. I could select all the voices plus with the Roland USB stick BBUTTT, altering/tweaking voices was simply FAR too difficult not natural as moving a knob…… yes I read the manual too buddy
It's ridiculous Roland haven't just made a dedicated Zen Core synth with all the controls layed out for the actual engine.. rather than knocking out sheep in wolves' clothing synths with the Jupiter-X/Juno-X where the panel only really makes sense when using those ABM approximations (which are ironically not as accurate anyway as the ACB ones in the System-8.. despite the looks)
