well worth the 200 it costs so educational i was a meat and potatoes player for ten years 0 knowledge of effect chains and shit this helps me understand the factors that go into tone and set ups and now i know what gear i want irl i accidentally got the limited version and had to drop another 200 for the max just get the max
You prolly dont care at all but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Achilles Marcos i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great work Ryan - thanks! I really think the subtle differences could be much better heard with a clean (even dry) signal. The heavy distortion just seems to wash most of it out. Probably different if ur sitting right in front of ur studio speakers.
Thank you very much for this interesting video! I use Amplitube as plug-in in Cubase but I don’t know how make Amplitube to receive program change message from Cubase. Can you help me? Many thanks
I know this question is a year old and I have yet to buy it (literally in the process lol) but I've done a significant amount of research to avoid any potential problems when first downloading and using the software and one thing I have seen suggested on numerous occasions is to download the software control panel first before installing the software itself.
@@TOANhound I have no idea why it wouldn't launch. I was able to download S-Gear and had it up and working in no time at all... I would have thought they would be very similar in nature.
I know this video is about a year old. One question - do you make any adjustments to either your Audio I/O interface gain or Amplitube 5 Input gain? I use the Axe IO as you do. The manual says to bring gain up until just before clipping when you are strumming at your hardest stroke. A couple other guides recommend keeping the gain at zero and instead adjust the input gain in Amplitube 5 until just before clip with hard strokes (one guide uses a sine wave generator, but that might be a bit anal). Either when the interface gain is set where the manual says or in Amplitube 5, I notice a lot of distortion even on cleaner sounding or set amps, and that is even with output volume in Amplitube 5 and on the Axe IO software set below clipping. I know that might seem a confusing question, a long way of asking how you do gain staging. For reference, I use a modified Dean Deceiver with the stock pickups switched out for Fraulin Modern PAF and the cheap stock pots switched out for better quality 500k volume and tone knobs (one each for the neck and bridge pickup). For my audio monitoring, I use either JBL 5" studio reference monitors in stereo from back of the Axe IO or Yamaha studio headphones from the front Axe IO port.
Thanks for the great question. It sounds like you've already done some research. There are a couple things I like to do when setting up to record. I always make sure to get a nice clean signal I'm happy with using my Interface's control (Z-TONE is especially useful for this when using AXE I/O like in the video) and maybe even the guitar's controls. Usually this setting depends on the riff, guitar, and amp choice. It is good to get the loudest signal possible before clipping, because later you can always turn that down in the box as long as it's nice and clean (without much noise). Of course adding gain in the box is a possible, but remember, you're then limited to the information that's been recorded already when raising the gain. Plus once recorded your guitar, you've maybe also recorded to some extent some noise. That noise may not be noticeable until you crank the gain on a quiet signal in the box. Really, you don't need to think to much, as long as you get a decent signal level into the DAW (I like to aim for a peak of -6dB to give myself some headroom), and you like the tone, you can go from there. All the knobs are there to be used :) Try them out and see what fits your needs. I can admit in cases it is useful once you have a good signal level to try adjusting the AmpliTube 5 input gain or output gain. They are great for fine tuning the signal level for the gear loaded and tone needed. For example, sometimes I'll use them to lower my guitar signal with the input gain to prevent a certain amp from breaking up at certain settings. -Ryan IK
I'll tell you what buddy ol' boy......that AmpliTube 5 MAX has some sweet, sweet presets......like Amesterdam. But you didn't hear it from me. In fact don't upgrade to it...you don't want it.... because I want those sounds all to myself.
I've sorted out my interface etc but when I change my amp settings it doesn't change the tone or sound of my guitar, it only sounds like the regular preset of a guitar plugged in

Hey there , cool video , one question I have and it's really an annoying problem is, why is it that whenever using amp sims , and a noise gate that, when I mute the strings with my hands it will engage the noise gate to close but like I can hear it go shhhrrlr when I let the strings ring out and die out it has so much sustain and then the hissing comes back andnoise gate close . It's super annoying because whenever I play the noise gate introduce noise in my recording everytime it closes. Is there a way I can fix this or something I'm doing wrong .?? Thanks in advance
hallo. I’m new in Amplitube 5 world and I also would like to take a iRig Stomp I/O but it is disappeared on the markt. If I use a Tonex pedal can I also import my Amplitube presets on it? Thank you.
Can you tell me why some combo amps are in the cab section, such as Fender 59 Bassman? Having them in the cab section makes it impossible to get to the control knobs on the amp. Thanks.
That's the cab/speaker from the combo only. You'll see the controls in the amp sectino of AmpliTube 5. This way you can swap speakers/cabs as you wish and still have the amp tone and its controls.
I would be cool if you focused some more on gear that isn't specific to Amplitube 5 MAX. I use the SE because I already have a whole of of the gear through Amplitube 4 MAX.
Nice to hear of your new iRig and AmpliTube setup and thanks for the kind words! In this video, the external monitors in the setup are a pair of iLoud MTM.
i have a BIG question, ... using the focusrite scarlet with amplitube5 - i put the latency at the LOWEST(16) ,0,4ms gives me a overall altency about 5 ms . everything is eprfect . so if my PC ( its a beast) can handle this is loew latency alwys better ? or do i loose sound quality ? i can hear no difference , but in general ?
Make sure you're using the ASIO drivers with your Focusrite. Windows Audio (WASAPI) will work with AmpliTube 5 and I'm sure other applications, but performance may be hindered. WASAPI and Direct X are designed for video games or movies and not real-time audio processing. If this doesn't help, check with our support team. We'd be happy to help get you the best possible results. www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/sw/
@@ikmultimedia i solved the problem , everything fine with Pc and software /interface . The Neck of my 27 years old fender was "loose" . the sound had no sustain at all. now everything is fine. but thank you very much for answering and helping ! thanks alot !
The manual installs with AmpliTube 5 and is available in your IK User Area and IK Product Manager. If you can't find your manual, please check this FAQ for details www.ikmultimedia.com/faq/index.php?id=1395
I hear my guitar playing clean through windows on top of amplitude. How do I remove the clean notes ( the same sound you hear just plugging into your interface and playing in windows)
Where to I get Custom Ir's ? Can I Make and Save My OWN IR's? How do I do this I Own Amplitube 5 Max and The Mesa Boogie Packs as well. Thank you for your help. Carl Ventis
I'm new to amplitube, and I have two questions. First, I'm using the free version and I cannot find the presets, is it true they are disabled in the free version? Second, how do you control the db in pro tools so when your recording your not topping out in the red
While there are of course more presets in say AmpliTube 5 MAX, AmpliTube 5 CS should still have a nice collection of Presets. If you're having any trouble finding them, please contact our support team (www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/sw). For your Pro Tools question, first I would suggest adjusting your gear levels. Make sure you're not incidentally cranking the signal to clipping anywhere on your interface or in the individual gear models in AmpliTube 5. Once you're sure everything is set as you'd like it, you can further adjust your Input and Output levels at the bottom of the Plug-in for fine-tuning. Hope this helps! --Ryan IK
How does one uninstall amplitube 4 to save space when we have amplitube 5? I can't find any info on this and the product manager doesn't have this option. Cheers!
I’m thinking about buying one of these packages IK Multimedia Axe I/O + AmpliTube 5 Max Bundle maybe some monitor speakers too but I read that the amp four had to have a mini controller to work with the preset button so has that changed an amp five or would I have to buy a midi controller I’m not really up on MIDI controllers I have a couple of Korg synths don’t those work as my midi controllers if I need one I have a kross 61 I could use or Triton 76 extreme
AXE I/O has two dedicated controller inputs let you connect up to two expression pedals or two single/double switches to control AmpliTube, or any other software, in real-time while playing. With AmpliTube’s MIDI Learn function, just right-click on any parameter you want to control, move the pedal, and it’s assigned. You can do up to 6 different controller configurations with AXE I/O, mixing pedals and switches, to suit your needs.
@@ikmultimedia OK I think I understand now the Midi control and a the foot switch acts as a assignor switch. But without that you have to do it on your computer with your mouse or keyboard. is that how it works. It would be cool to see you guys do a video on this because I’m sure there’s a lot more people besides me curious. Technology changes so fast a lot of us like 5 to 10 simple things instead of trying to remember 500 other things if you know what I mean. I listen to some other products that were supposed to be good but I was surprised they didn’t have the natural guitar amplifier tone the way yours does and the fact that I can pump it back out to the amp and basically jam live to me that was a big part so I’m probably ordering it today. Maybe within a month I’ll have some video on my Instagram demonstrating some capabilities. I love tinkering with the stuff. I’m trying to come up with basically a killer home studio design picking up new and used things etc. and having a major set up for under $1000 that’s without my instruments and computer. Then I came up with some better ideas on unknown musicians how they could market their stuff better by using well-known musicians. Because a few people were discussing sometimes a person writes a great song but it goes nowhere because they’re totally unknown and their marketing was not enough. I like your gear and your software because it’s the kind of stuff that you can just look at it and have a guitar and you don’t have to read three months worth of help files you know how everything functions or what to expect. Thanks for the quick reply on this. Everything I have seen on your product looks great and when I seen Pete Thorne playing with it I was excited about it, he’s sort of my channel I turn to when I want to hear about great tone or technical stuff. I’m hoping I can start up sort of my own guitar magazine online with articles talking about this stuff. Between RU-vid and Instagram I’ve come across some of the greatest musicians in the world. I love tinkering with all this stuff. I think the next step in the industry is we start seeing robust computers designed specifically for musicians
I am completely new to Amplitude. HOw does the amp and Cab work with say a 65 Fender Twin where amp and cab are matched. I can't seem to understand how they handle Matched Cabs. Thoughts?

bro I'm having the hardest time just trying to get my amp sim to work. No one touches on this and I am a total newb when it comes to amp sims or recording softwares in general. How do I even get sound to come out of my amp sim? It doesn't make sound at all, I am just getting the clean guitar sound I get when I plug into my focusrite scarlett solo 3rd gen through my computer
Did you get it working? I had a similar problem. I had Amplitube up in standalone, and it was working. I experimented a bit with stuff, then it stopped, and like you I only got the clean signal from my guitar. I had to restart it, and then it worked.

@@ikmultimediathank u , yesterday doing a little search, I found that you have to “uncheck “ the “open as administrador “ on the app in windows. Can someone tell me... what's the point of a two-track looper if none can be stopped with either a footswitch or a keyboard????? Guys i'm looking for some simple LOOPER App for Windows PC with two or more track smth like Quantiloop... Witch is actually working...
We have google, lol. Clicking that reverses the polarity, AKA puts it out-of-phase in relation to another mic/track/other audio source that was in phase before, and vice versa. If you don't know what phasing is, then you'd have to learn about that first.
Hello, very curious about the software .....can I have this loaded on my desktop and my laptop at the same time with a single license/account ? and can I run this directly from my Interface and laptop to a powered speaker cab ?
Yes you can run it on both, just not simultaneously. You can also use an audio interface, your laptop, and a powered speaker if your interface will output to that powered speaker (which any proper audio interface should).
@@ikmultimedia Great. Please point me to a beginner video on Amplitube UA. I can't find one on this channel. They're all over me head. Currently, the app doesn't seem to see my iRig2. Thanks.

I plug the AXE I/O SOLO into my Mac... it disconnects every 2-30 seconds. It fully loses connection with the interface, from the Sys Prefs Audio pane, it actually disappears for a second or two from the list of available sources. Can anyone help? Works fine on PC.

Hi, how do I change presets in Amplitube 5 using the buttons on my midi controller keyboard, for example from a clean to a distorted sound, or one saved present to another, or switching a delay pedal on and off etc? Is this possible? I am using Cubase.
Hi, you can use MIDI messages to control AmpliTube 5 in the ways your describe. The MIDI implementation is detailed in the AmpliTube 5 User Manual. Thank you.
You can find it in your IK Product Manager, IK User Area, and it is also installed with AmpliTube 5. Here is the FAQ about where IK manuals can be found www.ikmultimedia.com/faq/index.php?id=1395
