You know how people speedrun, get a WR, then that WR is beaten in most cases weeks or even days later..... This guy is still #1 on the PC leader board for this game in 2021.
man the ending is so emotional even though this game barely has any plot. and the writing in those screen messages is so good and also emotional. there is something beautiful in the archetype of self-sacrifice.
@@technicolormischief-maker5683 If your emotions are unwarranted to the extreme and render you a pathetic, pitiful sad sack candyass douche, then no, it is anything but childish to seek to help that person by encouraging them to put such emotions away and...grow a pair.
Crazy stuff, keeping the chain going through all the chaos is something I've been trying to improve at, and the way you've got the route you take to do it is very insightful.
Well played. The challenge of this game really irritated me once I got to stage 3 I believe it is. Watching this video, I see it's possible to do but the level of concentration and anticipation is very demanding. I get somewhat mesmerized and confused once the screen gets layered with both white and black polarity shots, resulting in my death of course.
Great shmups like this one teach something very important even to players like you and I who can't beat them without continues. They teach something very important to players of any skills.
Man, I've always been a fan of this kind of shooters. I came here looking for a way to beat a boss, but instead found all the op strats. Damn, how can you change polarity so smoothly? I am fast enough in other games, but this one always find ways to snipe me. I know this run is old, but it is still really awesome
one of the few games I regretted selling on Ebay a few years back :( I loved this game but never could get A status passed stage 3 :D The soundtrack just pumps me up!
Very nice! My proudest achievement was a one coin clear of this game, and I love how you're using Kagari! Most prefer Ikaruga but I had an easier time seeing Kagari's ship for some reason
I've just managed to clear Ikaruga on hard and scored 30m. Then I watch this video and realise that 35m is possible. Damn. GG to you, I am never going to get anywhere near your score.
LOL, this game is so so crazy... I always loved shmups, but this little beast will always be on another level... I can barrely make it through on normal, but this guy, right here, and all the others before him, is/are just monsters!!!!!! ;-p And I have no words for those who make it dual play with both hands, THAT my friend, was/is pure madness!!!! :-D
This is amazing and i love it. Only thing i don't understand, maybe someone could explain, why does he destroy them in pairs? As in he delibirately shoots down only 3 whited, then 3 blacks. Why so specific?
He's chaining them 3 in a row to maximize his score. It's the "proper" way to play Ikaruga. Some would argue that its too strict and linear. It's why some people say its more like an execution heavy puzzle game. Personally I see both sides but I enjoy it.
The name of his fame is COMBOS!!!!! If he matches the colors, in this case black and white, especially in polarity, his combo points increases. It's hard, especially in a game like this and Radiant Silvergun, for I have played both a good number of times. It takes sheer concentration to do what he's doing. And with dat said, CAN DO PLEASE DO ONE FOR RADIANT? Would love to see you perform the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's insane... I played this game a long time ago... And I was still thinking about, because I wasn't able to pass the second level. Therefore, I decided to take my "revenge" and I bought the game on steam... Damn, I'm just able to go to the boss of the level 2 for now. Therefore, I need to keep playing, and I felt like I was blocked so I was looking for some clues... Damn Sa Suisai plays so well... I'm asking myself if I would be able to finish this game... I guess I should try and give myself a challenge. Finish this game in normal mode is a really accomplishment. For real.
Its been ported to several different consoles. It was originally released as an arcade game in japan but was eventually ported to PC, the Sega Dreamcast, the Nintendo Gamecube, the Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Switch
