Kenpo looks like a really excellent martial art. I took two years of Tae Kwon Do which was great, but there were no weapons. Kenpo seems like it's more rounded. At the local tournaments I used to go to, the Kenpo school always won the most medals.
A great Video, All the Seniors are amazing!! I personally think Ersnt, Angelo, Martin, Lorcan and Mick were the Best!! I think im ok'ish, Need ALOT more tightening up. Hope to do another one IF my training can continue in the future G.
Occasions I have tried to contact you about purchasing your videos I get no response not trying to be a jerk I really am interested in buying your videos I study with Dennis conaster and was a student of Brian Duffy and I'm like wanting to purchase your videos to further my training but I never I've tried to contact you on Facebook I'll try to contact you in every way possible and it's like you ignore me so I mean anyway I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt but I really would like to buy your DVDs but anyway I guess this is it my last attempt to try to get in touch with you
your opinion, but I believe that is not always true. We the best trainers, instructors and fighters in the world and in all disciplines. people come from other countries to learn. Some people just want to take longer to make their wallets fatter.
Sorry Graham, I have to agree with the majority of the comments here. For a black belt line this is embarrassing. The stances are almost non-existent. And look at EVERYONE attack, most are barely swinging and not even at the target?? What good does this line do? If you are not defending against a solid attack and you are not just showing form, then it is a waste! Not hating here, I just think if you post something for other countries to see, then do it right. I suggest picking up Ed Parkers books and study stances.
I'm not sure you can expect every time you see a Kenpo video to see the same level of precision of a Jeff Speakman or Larry Tatum video. With that snap and rhythm. There are all kinds of schools just like it is in the US. You have the serious schools like Jeff Speakman''s (Ed Parker)...then you have the Karate schools handing out black belts to 12 year olds. Schools where there's now bowing. No bowing to O Sensei when you walk in...etc. They walk in do the "fun" moves and go. They're like the baseball teams that don't keep score. :) Or no one looses. :)
The more I watch kenpo the less I respect it. It all looks staged like those terrible no touch or chi seminars. From what I have been able to research the syllabus is all based on theory, not actual combat. And when they compete they never use the techniques from their style, instead then turn into kickboxers. I see it as the absent father to the birth of all mcdojos.
