What a neat product. Add CO2 and this would be absolutely perfect for all sorts of applications!

It should have said ‘close the window the air quality is low’

if im understanding this correctly, this means i can buy one of these without needing to spend more on the ikea home hub?

Yes, you can use this just as a stand alone device or as I have connected it to Home Assistant, as long as you have a ZigBee antenna connected to your home assistant.

@@hometechUK Hello, what does number 4 mean, just beside the 3 colours please ? I understand the colour like red is bad, green is good, but the number 4 ? Thank You. By the way, i just notice that it alternate between 3 and 4 now.

Can I make it possible to have the IKEA air quality indicator reach 30 or above and send push notifications to my phone? How can I achieve this? Could you provide me with some tips?"

Nice video. Being a zigbee device , they could have made it battery powered and that would mean one less wire cord and socket taken up in the house. The accuracy and technique used in these sensors is yet to be validated. for its price its a cheaper monitor

The sensor is quite good, someone else did a complete teardown and it’s a nice Sensiron sensor in this model. Very accurate.

Disagree. No battery means you don’t have to careful about the battery health. You can plug it in all day and all night long worry-free.
@nrikhy2793
@nrikhy2793 6 месяцев назад
@@nares2005 You can have an inbuilt battery and still keep it on charge connected.
@nares2005
@nares2005 6 месяцев назад
@@nrikhy2793 I know but if you keep it connected the battery will degrade quickly, rendering using without plug in useless. Battery-less and you just plug in and forget. Much better for your nerve.

@@nares2005 That's just poor design, but I admit that's everywhere and mostly makes this approach no go. In a better world this would be a non issue and we could just buy a battery powered rechargeable device and plug it in 24/7. It's not really harder than a standard li-ion, a 4 volt charge limit and reasonable power circuit within. However, the general public does not want this. It's either disposable battery ultra low power or wired with bells and whistles. Cheaper and requires zero technical knowledge or interest.

@@hometechUK Thank you. Amazing. I got the simple Ikea VINDRIKTNING air sensor with three leds and it make annoying noises not suitable for a bedroom.

Does it also work under ZHA?
@hometechUK
@hometechUK 11 месяцев назад
You can yes but I believe the PM2.5 does not show, unless that has now been added, I'm not sure?

@@hometechUK Shame. will have to wait till there is native ZHA support then
