How to Assemble the Alex drawer assembly from Ikea in easy to follow, step by step instructions. Tools required - Philips Screwdriver - Hammer or Rubber Mallet
Awesome tutorial. The other tutorial on this drawer that has 300k views has wrong information in it. Ikea has changed the parts and assembly since that video was made. For instance, in the other video they insert the cam screw before instead of after and that really messed me up. This video helped greatly.
I know man. I had no idea until the deed was done. I’m obviously no editing genius. But hey, this video did alright for my channel so I am okay with that lol
My Alex drawer just arrived today and I'm sitting here staring at the unopened box on my office floor, wishing you would come assemble it for me. Lol. Thankfully, your tutorial was thorough and easy to follow. Thanks!
Dude you’re a legend, I literally had trouble because I was overthinking on how to put on the top drawer after having the top on and you answered my question the moment the video started 🙏🙏
This was the best tutorial on how to assemble these drawers I could find. THANK YOU. It was very helpful. I just finished putting my drawers together. ☺️
This was so informational! Im (hopefully) getting two if these tomorrow, and my dad claims to not be the best at putting things together (and neither and I). Im prepared to have to fly solo on this and Ive never built anything in my life, so I went tou good ol RU-vid ti figure it out, and this video was so easy to follow and very well put together! Thank you so much for making ny life 100 times easier!!
Thanks for this. I just put together the koppang dresser yesterday and i still have 2 of these to put together and these looks significantly easier. Just be warned that if you aren't putting together this on carpet to put a blanket down as the boards scratch really easily. I learned the hard way with my dresser.
It has been 20 years since I have put together any thing from Ikea. Your instructions are excellent! I am now ready to go. You don't rush or assume we already know and your calming voice all help. Thank you very much!
Thank you for a fabulous tutorial!!! You did a wonderful job explaining what to do step by step! I put this together in maybe an hour and a half. I’m a senior woman and had no problems at all. In my opinion, watching the video all the way through before starting to put it together is beneficial. THANK YOU!
Awesome video! Helped a lot! My only complaint was I was putting a LAGKAPTEN top on 2 of these to make a vanity table so I ended up with the top at the bottom and the bottoms at the top. Easy fix once I realised my mistake, just swapped the top and bottom panels to allow me to screw the top on 😊
very helpful, thank you! I actually happened to have one of my Alex Drawers defected (Wrong size of wood slab) so I had to call Ikea mid-way through, but I ended up finishing the 2nd drawer with the help of this video.
I absolutely love you 😂😂 I would never have assembled this desk without this video.. The instructions suck ass, and your video was spot on!! So very appreciated. I will definitely be coming to watch you for any assembly I have to do in the future! Your videos are amazing, and make things so easy!! So so so thankful for you.❤
This is awesome. When I build my new gaming desk I'm getting two of these and a counter top from lowe's. This is going to be so nice when its done and apparently really easy to assemble!
Huge thanks for this -- mine was slightly different in spots but this was a huge help. I can't ever figure out the stupid directions with these things and you were crystal clear!
decided to do the assembling myself because service was too pricey. thank you! you made it look a bit easy and now i'm less intimidated to do this by myself LOL
Thank you so much!!!! This is so helpful! I followed another RU-vidr before who said to put the lock screws in first!! Took me so long to figure out why the side pieces weren't fitting. I wish your video came up first lol
You absolutely saved me! I ended up watching this rather than reading the paper guidance. Mine had very slight differences but even with that the way you explained it made way more sense. Thank you!
Hey funny enough I just built mine today as well. Did you have diffrent components than in the video? Like I didn't need the screws that use the Allen wrench at all. And the bottom foot pegs use adhesive instead of the screw in. Was this the same for you?
Really appreciate this video , worked really great, my Alex drawers are a newer model I think, because the bottom was different, it had cams but other than that, the step by step was great
Great tutorial man, only thing I would have added is specifying which board goes on the top and which on the bottom. The paper guide doesn’t mention it either and I ended up doing it in reverse which prevents all the drawers from fitting. Easy enough to remove and put back together the right way though!
Mines came with different holes in the bottom for like wheels etc and the little legs are m3 sticky legs not click but this tutorial is top notch thanks a lot man! Ikea should hire you to do tutorials for assembling their Merch!
An excellent video, very informative. However when i ran out of cam screws I realised that the equipment had been updated and I had to go back and swap all of the base cams with plastic ones as opposed to the metal ones used for the drawers themselves.
Hello thanks for the video. I want to put a laptop in the first drawer and connect it to a monitor via usb-c. There isn't any hole in the back of the drawer in order to do so, is it ?
If you, like me, mixed the top with the bottom... it's okay, it's possible to remove the cam lock and change them ! check the video called " How to remove a cam lock (C shaped) from Ikea furniture " and you're good to go
Hi I bought a gaming desk but it's little bit small Do i need to return it and take one bigger or buy alex and take for big space and drawers ? What do you think?
