awesome video, just got mine assembled last night. trying to find that video were someone added weather stripping to help keep dust out. trying to find exactly what he used.
Massive thank you for doing this. I was really disheartened when I realized that the Detolf shelves couldn't be manually adjusted which prevented me from putting in my 1/4 scale figures. But this has gotten me really excited because I now no longer need to look for a $500 plus tower display. I can modify the displays with that money and still have plenty left over for a 2nd Detolf + modifications. Where did you get the acrylic pieces?
Hi Smaugh, i like to ask what type of glass and acrylic did you buy to reforce the Detolf. I buy my first resin this year and i love to put her on my Detolf but im afraid that will break. If you could help i would apriciate. Thank you.
@@MightySmaug Thank you. I'm really afraid that they break and my 2 resin are destroyed but I really don't have any place that they will look so good as the Detolf
I've seen the cable clamps before but the biggest issue with them is that they look like shit. I have detolfs that are over 14 years old and they have not given out yet. But I am concerned and keep looking for a better solution that isn't such an eye sore.
I like your figures. I wonder if they ever made a figure from that old Heavy Metal cartoon. Those figures you have like the lady death , she looks a lot like the girl on the movie poster.
I was honestly thinking od making the four corner rods and the shelf holders out of wood but after seeing this I am interested to try that Tell me is it still holding good? Thank you
Marcus Tiaki Hammond Unfortunately, I had to liquidate my collection due to a military move. My plans are to set up again soon. I never had issues from the shelves though.
@@MightySmaug Oh damn sorry to hear bro. I was planning to do a custom glass cabinet cause I heard the Ikea detolfs were too weak but then I found your video and you helped me change my mind. I went out and bought the Ikea detolf and just finished putting them up yesterday with the wire clamps 8.38 laminated glass shelves I got from work. Completely happy with it, so glad I found your video.
I'm planning on displaying my 1:1 life scale sized infinity gauntlet in my detolf cabinet. I have been told that It will be approximately 13kg (29 pounds). Would you say the middle glass shelf could support it? Cheers
MrRavingpanda I believe it would be fine but that is just my opinion. If done correctly, all the weight is on the metal frame. Braced to the wall and c clamps in place, it should hold that weight easily.

Hello just wondering how much was the acrylic and how much can the glass with the clamps on without the acrylic hold cause I’m trying to put a least 4 kg on it will it hold?
