The IKEA kitchen is either loved or hated by investors, whether they be flippers, rehabbers, or even primary residents. With their low prices and abundance of options, many flippers can greatly reduce their investment costs simply by shopping at IKEA vs other big-box retailers. But, with lower prices comes quality reductions as well as very long assembly times. When time is money, does the IKEA kitchen really stand a chance against the competition?
Mindy Jensen, host of the BiggerPockets Money Podcast has joined us in this crossover episode on the Real Estate Rookie channel to review her $7,369.12 IKEA kitchen. She’s not only built the kitchen, but lived in it during the flip, so she has seen both the pre-installation and post-installation pros and cons of IKEA cabinets, countertops, and more.
Have you ever used kitchen fixtures from IKEA on your rehabs? If so, did they last through multiple tenant turnovers? Let us know below!
