Nice video, I'm also assembling an IKEA Malm bed right now and I'm having troubles with the step that starts at 1:10. The screws just seem to not get in the holes of the cross braces and I can't firmly screw them in. Did you have any troubles with that?
at 1:38 you put the plastic slat holders and then at 1:48 you removed them are those parts needed only for the luroy slats? did you had any trouble with your lonset slats?
No official answer, it seams to me that those parts work only to hold the luroy slats in place so I uninstall them as they make the lonset slats offset from the bed base. Seams more logical , I am sure many people have installed them without knowing if needed, ikea should make a note for this part
Have you guys done a video on taking it apart? Just had to move apartments. Can't figure out how to get out the circular metal parts that keep the 4 beams together in 0:39. Have you had any luck with that?
+Victor C Check the arrow on the wheel and make sure its facing in the right direction(towards the headboard). The trick is to trap the screw in the little gap on the wheel and then twist it with the wrench. I would also hammer the wood dowels just to make sure they are all the way in.
