Welcome to my review of the updated IKEA ROG Lanespelare mouse pad with a design! This new faster pad with a design is being sold alongside the original IKEA pad for the same price of $9.99 at the time of purchase. Sadly as I was uploading this video I saw IKEA raised the price $2 to $11.99! Now that does suck, but it really does not change my thoughts on either pad. I just wanted to let you be aware of the price increase here.
Also, a person who creates mouse pads and gave me a little more insight on the pad surface. Here is what he said. This makes the pad a solid recommendation!
"Btw wanted to let you know, the IKEA pad uses sublimation.
If it used heat transfer, you'd feel the difference between the printed and non-printed areas because it would create an entirely new layer that sits on top of the fabric, rendering the fabric totally useless.
Heat transfer is NEVER used in mousepads.
And it doesn't seem to have a water-proof coat based on your water test, so that leads me to believe it has the same sub-dye print as pads like the Padsmith First War, AC2 Sakura etc.
And that while it will break in and slow down a bit as all those pads do, it's not an actual coating that will wear off."
