IKEA Söderhamn Sofa Review 2 YEAR LONG TERM

I have this sofa and I usually put the smaller pillows behind the larger pillows to bring the larger pillows to the proper angle for sitting comfortably

Been looking for a couch to fit in my tiny office room and this is probably it. There's better options locally but they cost way more (wattle living if you want to check it out). Decided to scale back the budget. I would prefer a more plush couch but it's hard to find couches in the config I want - this lets you have one armrest and the other end open.

Out of all the sofas ive had the ikea one was my favorite the depth and height is just comfortable

Looking for a new sectional as I had to get rid of my Arhaus Remington since it didn’t fit in my new place. Good to know that the sodderham is the opposite-will have to consider!

can you change out the legs to make the couch taller?

I've had my soderhamn for 6 months and I had an issue with the legs too, my biggest issue with the sofa is the crinkle on the seat, it almost has a dip after you've sat in it for a few hours, have you experienced this and if so what's your solution please?

does it take some getting use to without having arms on the couch? I think i wanna go without arms since I like the modern clean look of it but not sure how practical it is. Also can the legs be changed on the couch?

To spot clean, you might try a mixture of water w/ some plain old table salt (the salt must be completely dissolved in warm water ) - solution of 10 parts water to 1 part salt If that doesn't work, add a few capfuls of hydrogen peroxide to the mix and a little plain old rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't work, use 3 parts water and 1 part white vinegar and a tsp of borax (the borax should be completely dissolved in very warm water before adding to the vinegar and water solution).

Love that IKEA coffee table with your Söderhamn set up. Your room looks great. I’ve had the original grey 3-seater (2-seat-cushion base unit you have there without the chaise-lounge) for over 6 years, and I’ve actually been sleeping on it for 6 years as well! I’ve had no problems with it at all. I don’t use those little lumbar cushions on the sofa - I put those on the floor under my desk chairs for my feet as I’m too short for desk chairs without my shoes! I use a bunch of various coloured IKEA scatter cushions (I wish they still had more of the rami covers, really nice!) on the back cushions, and it’s super comfortable. I sometimes use one those lumbar cushions as an armrest when sitting low (my Söderhamn has no sides, I love the sleek daybed look). I rotate the seat cushion inserts regularly. Only thing I find a pain (maybe they’ve changed the design now?) is the back zippers that connect the seat covers to the seat body. I sometimes give up on trying to get those to catch! In 2016 when I bought the Söderhamn, I was fortunate to be able to buy IKEA’s limited edition designer cork coffee table with the black tubular legs. Same height as the sofa, and same dimensions as 2 horizontal mirrors on the feature wall above the sofa.

We have owned our Soderhamn for two years as well. I would say it held up well but then we got a dog and he has destroyed this couch. that being said, we love the style of this couch and I too have found it to be very comfortable for the most part. I will say that when we first purchased it, I felt like the seating was not very comfortable as the cushions are quite thin. Something that helped is I went to Michaels and purchased some memory foam and cotton batting and did a little diy on the cushions. I feel like that small adjustment really helped and it did not cost a lot at all for the material. Now we are looking to upgrade and want a couch that has similar looks.

I've had soderhamn for a year and I do not recommend it. It's just NOT comfy, the back sucks and the pillows are awful. Thanks for the detailed video. Wish I'd seen it before!

I've tried it at Ikea and decided not to buy it. The base of corner elements are is coushy while the base of the middle element has no cushioning at all.

We hate this couch so much and we can never sit in a comfortable position within shrunking our shoulders down.. lets see after i watch these videos!
