I hope in season 2, they be together. He gave up the first time when he thought that his friend liked her too & she too never told him that she liked him. The way he looks at her & telling her that by eating together & drinking coffee with her is his treat he gave himself is priceless.
You just can tell how even she likes him ..and ofc he does too ..but even she has feelings which she buried but i guess in season 2 those will come up now that our ik jun finally got the courage to give it a go

i never knew how did these two get so close bcz i was busy to find about others yet these two kept me giving the feeling that it would have been if there were happened to be together in the end. And then it happened! And then it just gave me a thought of exploring their romanticism for the first time and made me rewatch it... And it's worth is unexplainable. I don't ship these twos. I admit that Ikjun feeling is deep, however I need to hear the story from Songwa part as well. So far, his feeling is very one side and if it turns out she doesn't feel the same, then that is it. She shouldn't feel pressure to his feeling at all. No one have the right to force one feeling to another. Regardless I am sure the writer n casts will deliver this series beautifully. ✌️ So looking forward to S2.
Why did he not confess his feeling much earlier? Why he was married to another girl and have a son, if before marrying, he has already a feeling to Song Hwa? Why?
I think he chose not to risk being rejected and making their friendship awkward before and even said it himself that he was chicken to do it until last episode where he finally confesses to her. My guess is that he managed to get over his feelings for song hwa as she went and dated other guys whilst he dated other girls too and ended up getting married and having uju until jeongwon brought them altogether again to work at the same hospital giving them more of a chance to hang around with each other. From there Ikjun most likely have had his feelings 're-sparked' for songhwa. sorry for the long post XD i hope this makes sense.
I think is because he saw Yang Seok-hyeong felt terrible after being rejected by Songhwa, he lost his courage or he didn't feel right to express love to a girl that his friend liked too (he chose friendship over love)
꿀우유 i think Seok Hyung knew that Ik Jun and Song Hwa liked each other, so he called Ik Jun instead of his best friend then - Jung Won. And i think Ik Jun knew Seok Hyung’s thought, so that he chosen to not confessed to Song Hwa until Jung Won brought them altogether again at Yulje Hospital.
