Comparing the OH10s with the price/performance of the CCA HM20, do these justify paying 3X more? I used to have the OH10, and I can't say that they sounded that much, if at all, better than the HM20, which I found to have a similar tuning & energy, but with a more holographic stage (to my ears). The HM20 even fit better in my ears, thanks to their light weight; the OH10 would eventually start to slip out if I tilted or moved my head, thanks to their heavy weight.

I had oh10 for the longest time on my list, out came oh 5 with its impressive materials, cable, generalities and big price, right about 11.11 last year so I went for it with little to no previous knowledge and expecting it to be a step up from famed oh10, man was I dissapointed with one of the dullest sound signature I have listened to so far, still. Later got at very discounted price Dac/docking station ITX01 also from Ikko, turned out a flawed dac with poor performance. So these couple experiences plus the flawed first obsidian you said you got, have me quite reluctant to go in that direction again.

Wow talk about being truly unlucky. I guess it's understandable you are apprehensive towards IKKO products but look at it this way. OHIO was popular in the opinion of 95% of.buyers . OH5 was overly expensive and received with very limited praise , so it was a clear sign that something was off. As for the docking station same situation. The OH10S is very nice and if it's not more popular it's because the OH10 is almost identical so getting the OH10S makes little sense. I think that if you have the opportunity to listen to it, do so, it won't dissapoint.

I lost my oh10 which I loved. I got a very good deal on the 10s. They are a minor improvement at the same time I got them for such a good price I couldn't say no. You're right! Things have changed especially this year. They are competitive but no longer the sure thing they were back then

Both look equally great and unique. Oh10 obsidian are my first iems and honestly glad theyre doing something different with the oh10s, not much to expect as the 10S are really just a refresh of their most popular iem which remains to be a cult classic.

@@paulosilva8200 that is very understandable, these iems are as V shaped as it gets below 500$ probably. I bought the Shanling UP5 as a dac over the btr7 purely because of the knob to adjust volume due to these iems. Always change the volume depending on song as to not destroy my ears. They're very good at EQing though so that may be a saving grace for most people. The bass is to die for so I'm planning to buy another pair to replace my dead ones. Which iems replaced the oh10 for you? I'm scared of brain burn in with the oh10 bass rumble and quality ruining my perception of other decent iems.

@Deadricklord ha ha I have around 80 iem and I gave away so many. I keep buying them to the point that ny girl has no idea what was before and its new. Lol.about sound. I never use Bluetooth. Hate it. And when is getting signal from a phone into a dac and then a wired iem. Even worse. For gym I have 5 daps. I love daps for a few reasons. Example I have a mo pro dap. Very small. I had a sticker for webcam. Looks like a tiny window that closes the webcam and open. So i open, place superglue in that and make it like a hook.i place this cord laces like for vip concerns with a clip that goes inside the hole. And some knots to make the lace sorter and vuala. I have a player with 9 series chip. And capacitors inside. Instead of a phone plus dac. And then I have other daps for the music. I hate eq from phones or even some Chinese brands daps. Best eq is from sony players. On the phone if the eq lowers the volume ans changes tonality then I prefer to buy hiby daps and use their 8msb eq. Now for iem within budget. You need to tell me what you want to spend. The more the better. For around 80 bucks the ew200 simgot is a winner . Even the 500 model is a winner too. I love the penon iem. They great and people don't talk much about it. Very organic. The kiwi ears quintet is a great set.and performer 8 is great too.

@@paulosilva8200 alright thanks for the advice, as for the Bluetooth problem. I use my UP5 wired when on my laptop but I very often have to spend 5 hours on a commute as I live in the provincial part of my country while I often have to go to the capital for my university. The UP5 is just one of the more portable dacs that allow me to swap between my phone and my laptop seamlessly while on the move. I do plan on investing in a dap but honestly I'd be better off getting better iems than investing in dacs/sources. I'll be saving for the quintet based on your recommendation as I'm yet to try anything technically impressive yet. Any 100$ ish iems that beat the oh10 in terms of bass that you know of? Or am I better off just trying something else.

You're not alone, me too I was very disappointed with ikko oh10, 150$ for a v shape when you can pay 30$ for it... Tangzu zetian wu too was a bad choice, v shape and tonality was horrible and unnatural, i dont know, from blon bl03 to oh10, i suppose you can see a big step, something better, but to me, hell no, a few reviewers are now banned...

Listening to you now on my OH10 Obsidians and they whispered in my ear that they forgive you. And so do I. Found that the shallow tips are the best for me. Having also the Timeless original, would I be wasting money if I purchased the HIDIZS MP145?

Well Timeless is an impressive set, but overall I really enjoy the balance of thenMP145. I think it's got a fuller , warmer presentation. By the way what was that you forgive me on the OH10, you mean the fact initially misjudged it?

The name to me describes the face plate of the IEM. Obsidian is a volcanic rock and OH10 looked like that. PS: To me your mic volume is too low for your videos.
