prathisha71, 100% SPB's MISTAKE! SPB was NOT doing free or charity concerts! SPB was at the wrong side legally/morally, after defaulting the fairly-due royalty to IR. NOBODY supported SPB in that issue, but 2 Malayalam composers supported IR saying it is IR's right. If SPB could pay the royalty to Arr, Deva, Vidyasagar etc. for using their songs, what made him take the "friendship" for granted? He also posted ill of IR on his Facebook knowing very well that his fanatics would abuse IR (which is exactly what happened). He was minting crores in that World Tour concert where he sang 75% IR songs! He was the one who declared "I won't sing IR sings again"! After that, his concerts did not do well, whereas IR had housefull concerts even WITHOUT SPB! But, it is IR's MAGNANIMITY that he pardoned SPB and accepted him when he came back in 2019. IR also gave SPB one more song to sing, and they did 4 concerts together during which SPB presented IR with a Ramana Maharishi photo saying "BE AS YOU ARE"!. Ilayaraja used only few singers but introduced and worked with many in Tamil. b'se, all his compositions are tough to sing and breathless. Unless you are regular it's tough to produce results in live recording. experience highly matters. Also he is quick in recording songs those days only landlines no easy communication is possible for those who are not in chennai/TN. Here is the list of singers. Singer Sujatha, Swarnalatha, Sunandha P. Jayachandran, Uma Ramanan , Shreya Ghoshal’s , Kavita Krishnamurthy Minmini (Thevar Magan song then Roja), BS sairekha, jency, krishna chandran, SN Surendar, kamalhasan, unnikrishnan, hariharan, harini, anuradha sriram, latha, vadivelu.

Correct. I haven't listened much to Illayaraja, but AR Rahman has definitely lost his charm, don't know why. Maybe he is concentrating a lot on touring and concerts and less in composing. But after 2010 or so, his music just sound mediocre. Thankfully Anirudh, SaNa, GV Prakash Kumar and many more are trying to keep the level of music at a respectable level.

100% SPB's MISTAKE! SPB was NOT doing free or charity concerts! SPB was at the wrong side legally/morally, after defaulting the fairly-due royalty to IR. NOBODY supported SPB in that issue, but 2 Malayalam composers supported IR saying it is IR's right. If SPB could pay the royalty to Arr, Deva, Vidyasagar etc. for using their songs, what made him take the "friendship" for granted? He also posted ill of IR on his Facebook knowing very well that his fanatics would abuse IR (which is exactly what happened). He was minting crores in that World Tour concert where he sang 75% IR songs! He was the one who declared "I won't sing IR sings again"! After that, his concerts did not do well, whereas IR had housefull concerts even WITHOUT SPB! But, it is IR's MAGNANIMITY that he pardoned SPB and accepted him when he came back in 2019. IR also gave SPB one more song to sing, and they did 4 concerts together during which SPB presented IR with a Ramana Maharishi photo saying "BE AS YOU ARE"!. ILAYARAJA NEVER COMPLAINED / WHINED about the RUDE BEHAVIOR (reasons: casteism / his outspoken nature / NO-nonsense attitude / DISCIPLINARIAN) of artists towards him!
